Think about what they could use their money for

Religions wealth has always made me squirm.

From the Catholic Church, with its golden city and priceless relics, to the mormons and their absurd temple and huge big fat bank account.

The JW's are the same. Think about the money they've got if it is indeed true that they got 1 billion dollars for Brooklyn.

They could benefit so many needy people with proper humanitarian efforts - the homeless, the sick, children's welfare.

Yet what do they do? Fritter it away on bible literature that gets chucked in the bin and ridiculous 'bible educational centres' or whatever it is they call those developments they are building in the countryside.

Makes me sick to think about the sheer waste of time, money and effort

What a bunch of utterly useless trollops.

The only time you'd see Tony Morris in a soup kitchen is when he's standing in line.

They don't want to benefit other people. Leaders like the governing body are in it for their own luxury and power.

The only thing the bOrg ever got right was, religion is a snare and a racket.

    ....and they should know!

    How about this for starters?

27 The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation, and to keep oneself without spot from the world.
    James 1:27 nwt

Religions do not want to use their money to relieve suffering because most of them thrive on it. If the people aren't suffering, they are a lot less likely to turn to God. It's totally irrational, that we should feel the presence of a benevolent deity at just those times when all the evidence in front of our eyes suggests his absence. People never fail to thank God for escaping a burning building or surviving a hurricane, but they very often fail to thank him for a full stomach or good health.

@Rainbow_Troll, that is a marvelous answer to the Problem of Suffering. Why does God allow suffering? Because religion needs to happen.

Think about the money they've got if it is indeed true that they got 1 billion dollars for Brooklyn.

That's only one event. People don't think about the instant millions of dollars they used to make in a single assembly by announcing one new book, back when the printing media was profitable.

All Christi-SCAM-ity preaches people to be poor, then they take the money and concentrate it into the hands of those who damn the human race. Right in that damnation book, it constantly harps on being poor and suffering pointless hardships, and then donating heavily toward religions. And Judaism and Islam are no better.

In 1974 they were telling people the world was about to end and the JW members needed to get the word out. But instead of them putting thier money where thier mouth was and advertising that the world was about to end on TV and Radio, they went out and bought the Towers hotel in Brooklyn.
