What "message" does the J.W Org. have to offer that will attract new members ?

Van's summary is indeed their teaching in a nutshell, where it belongs, being a "Nutty" message !

Van said "But if they kill themselves before the GT starts, they will get an automatic resurrection pass to paradise where they will learn Jehovah’s Witnesses were right all along."

So, really the best thing J.W's could do for people is take a hand-gun to the door and shoot the Householder in the head ? LOL.

And that the "J.W's were right all along" will happen, is a very prevalent belief among the R&F J.W's, I heard that many times, and can remember doubting it at the beginning of my "Waking Up".

And yes Biahi, "Join or Die" is even more succinct ! But of course, that has been the message of all Looney fringe Christian groups, for many long decades, hence the Cartoons with "The End is Nigh" etc. Again, not a message that will attract new converts, here in the U.K if people are told that, even wrapped up in J.W speak, they think, and sometimes say, " Oh F*** Off !".

Phizzy please don't even joke about JWs shooting householders. I do wonder if they were told that it's Jehovah's will to do that would they comply ?

If it was pitched to them as a kindness , like totally ignoring disfellowshipped people, would they do it ?

    JWs already regard d/f persons--and apostates--as dead.

I compare the watchtower cult to islam--and look what those vile bastards are capable of.

Watchtower is beginnning to realize that much of their theology is not only not understood, but unnecessary to keeping membership.

Watchtower tickles peoples' ears with their false hopes:

    1. There is no judgment after you die

    2. You won't be conscious after you die.

    3. You atone for your own sins just by dying

These false hopes are sufficient in themselves to keep people from entering into an agreement for salvation directly with Jesus.

According to WT, the only way you can lose is if Armageddon comes while you are not an active JW. There is still plenty of motive for unsaved hard-working people to join the JW's.

But if they kill themselves before the GT starts, they will get an automatic resurrection pass to paradise where they will learn Jehovah’s Witnesses were right all along.

This is complete nonsense, and a caricature of what the current GB are saying. (Not that I'm a fan of their most recent spoutings, but let's be accurate here.)

At no time have the JWs taught that there is an "automatic resurrection pass" for anyone not a JW themselves. Of course, from a Biblical perspective, there IS no such thing as "an automatic resurrection pass" for ANYONE, since resurrection is dependent on God's mercy (grace) in applying Christ's ransom. He can choose to resurrect whomever he wishes - or choose not to. You don't get to sail through doing whatever you please. Yes, he promises to give life to those obeying him and his son, but even that is spoken of in terms that require effort and perseverance like "exerting yourself", a "narrow gate" and so on.

All this nonsense of characterising the change in the JWs teaching - whether it is correct or not - as a licence to do as you please is just as stupid as the suggestions that one should "stay PIMO and sit on the fence and see where things are going, then just jump at the end", etc, as if you can just fool God and "slip in under the net" at the last minute.

IF there is such a thing as the whole resurrection/judgement as Christians believe, the idea that some pathetic bags of skin and water like us humans can "gotcha!" the creator of the universe in that way is ridiculous.
