Smoking

Is it likely to be removed from the list of disfellowshippable offences? Given that the ban on smoking 🚬 is completely unbiblical*, might they ever remove it?

*Even mainstream Christianity can only come up with one verse "against" it, the one that says that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. But on that basis, eating too much fatty or sugary food is equally sinful.

Does it need to be 'biblical' to ban it?

Everyone should voluntarily shun smokers because they stink.

Why would they remove it? It costs so much for a pack of cancer sticks--just think of what would happen if that money was removed from the donation boxes! It is true that smoking defiles the body (and so do coronavirus shots, but are they going to ban those?). It also wastes money on something that gives negative value, programming the soul to repel money. And it is stupid for anyone to start smoking those things.

But evil? The evil is for those pushing cancer sticks on the public, not those smoking them. Those are merely victims--similar to a mouse stuck on a glue trap. Like the mouse that gets stuck on those things, people are goaded into starting smoking and do not know what it is going to lead to. Also, like the mouse that gets caught in a glue trap, by the time you realize you are hooked, it is very hard to get out of it. Is it fair to disfellowship the victims? Or would it be better to help them to quit if they already smoke and to prevent them from starting if they don't?

Of course not! Who needs Bible rules when we can all make our own commandments of men. Christians who celebrate Christmas or send birthday cards or vote in municipal elections should be mandatorily cut off from the Christian congregation as well as from their families.

Loving provisions from Jehovah of the Watchtower.

That's the scripture they use to ban smoking. In fact there's more than one scripture that makes over eating sugary foods unscriptural (if you also include that one)....but then half the GB would have to DF themselves!

What about vaping the healthy way? Many health therapies involve vapours of essential oils and even cannabis

YHWH/Jehovah loved the smell of cannabis, the Priests burned it on the alter in the Temple.
