SCOTLAND: Livingston Kingdom Hall

I've been to that assembly hall, it's been there a few years now. Very basic, quite small, like an oversized KH, in the middle of nowhere.

It means congregations in Scotland no longer use public town halls for assemblies, which they had done for over a century. At least town halls had character, and were located in the centre of towns. Just one more "simplification" that makes the JW existence even more bland and unappealing.

I've re-checked Google StreetView from the main road and it shows it being built in 2012

    November 2010 - initial groundworks

August 2012 - basic frame up

    October 2012 - build progressing

May 2016 - view of building completed

They used to use DG1 in Dumfries for our assembly days, then they built Livingston Assembly hall. I have only ever been there once, have to say, I was seriously underwhelmed by the building.

I've heard that they do not rent other towwn halls from quite far away...folks as far as Perth, Crieff etc have to travel a fair bit for their assemblies because he WT doesn't want to splash cash on nearer venues.
