Woman shot in Gastonia after armed robbery, attempted carjacking
Officials said the armed robbery suspects tried to carjack a woman.When she refused to give up her vehicle, she was shot.
GASTONIA, N.C. — One person was shot in Gastonia and taken to CaroMont with minor injuries Wednesday night, according to Gaston County EMS.
The call came in around 9:15 p.m. for the area of 2250 Davis Park Road.Gaston County officials confirmed the shooting was connected to an armed robbery at a nearby Little Caesars Pizza.
Two suspects tried to carjack a woman near Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. When the woman refused to give up her vehicle, officials said she was shot.

Gastonia sounds like a stomach bug.
This is terrible news. No one should be shot at for no really good reason unless life is in danger.
In the UK, guns aren't really the thing. Mind you, if it was in Sadiq Khan's London, it'd be a stabbing. We need more heroes with narwhal tusks over here. Can't beat a good tusk.
Perhaps Kingdom Hall(tm) security should be issued with tusks.

Goodness that is awful. Before I left, I was in charge of the Attendants Scheduling and we had 2 always in the lobby and we walked anyone leaving early to their vehicle. Maybe it was a deterrent, however we were unarmed and basically defenseless.
Now that I am out and I have exercised my 2nd amendment rights :-) I will promise you that an attempted assault will result in a hole in their glabella.
What I hate is this as some have commented already, result in a strengthening of the persecution complex even though several american churches have had far worse happen.

Unfortunate circumstance....has nothing to do with the religion however....just someone in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sad the criminal element in society exists and wreaks havoc on the innocent...
