and: jesus said the generation he lived in would see and survive the end, wt now teaches that the present generation will die before the end even gets too near.

And as you say Trev ,when that was written their were still people still living who were alive in 1914 etc,etc.as depicted on the front of the Watchtower magazine .
And now we know they have all died many years ago and still the end is nowhere to be found.
Of course after the event Jehovahs Witnesses came up with new light "overlapping generation" , its funny how new light always follows failed prophecys ,failed expectations
