I think it's interesting in how it relates to cults in General and Watchtower in particulAr.
They make it appear that the truth is "just a position". Just an opinion. The video relates it to modern politics but I see how the same is true of wtbts.

The problem with lies when it comes to the MSM is that they have been caught lying so many times that their use of "fake news" as a way to discredit the opposition (yes, they are completely partisan) backfired and THEY became synonymous with "fake news".
If you're going to use "liar, liar, pants on fire" as a political tactic then you need to make sure that you are honest - that means reporting bad behavior from your own 'side', good stories and achievements of the opponent and correct things you get wrong.
The MSM is not doing any of this. They are doubling down with the lies and biased coverage and so trust in them continues to plummet.

By the way I do think it's really interesting how this relates to Watchtower and particularly the fact that constant NÜ LAYT ( no consistency) isn't a problem.

In the US, this is usually the propaganda wing of the Democratic party. In Canada the CBC does the same for Trudeau and the BBC typically promotes labour talking points.

...and the solution is Fox News, conservative talk radio, Trump and more bigger lies. Two wrongs don't make a right. In math multiplying or dividing two negatives makes a positive, but that's a whole different matter.
The most effective lies will contain some truth even if small and only superficially true. It's like the sugar that makes the bs go down. That's why otherwise intelligent people can be so easily taken in when the latest propaganda bandwagon or the latest gossip comes to town.
Repeating it makes it stronger. Repeating it a hundred times in news cycle can potentially end careers, start wars and crash markets or in the case of a cult repeating it everyday for a few months or years can create a "believer."

No, I think Fox News is more honest in that they sell themselves as a conservative voice. When news sell themselves as objective and independent news sources but are totally partisan then they are more culpable of bias and misleading people.
