Of course you make sense, and I agree with you, for the most part. I'm just expounding JW theology to give you a clearer idea of their teachings - I don't believe that crap!

They say that the spirit is merely the impersonal life force, which leaves the body at death. It has no consciousness or personality. The "soul" is the whole person, made up of the body and spirit together. When God resurrects someone by creating a new body, he puts the spirit (life force) into the body and it again becomes a conscious soul.
