1914 and 1935 running out of time?

I don't think they will give up 1914, it is after all the only jewel in the crown. They said it was a significant year and it was, though not exactly what they advertised.

Still, it is their only claim to fame in the prophecy racket.

I think IslandWoman has hit the nail right on the head about the 1914 doctrine.

It certainly is the WTS' only claim to fame, a claim supported by years of carefully cultivated historical revisionism.

New Dubs are assurred that the WTS knew what 1914 would bring, when in fact all their earlier predictions about 1914 bringing Armageddon and the ushering in of God's kingdom on earth fell way short of the target, and it was only years AFTER 1914 that the WTS discovered the importance of INVISIBLE fulfillment of prophecy; an interpretive 'skill' that C.T. Russell learned from his Adventist predecessors.

Such "prophecies" should be referred to a WAGNER prophecies -

    W - wild

    A - ass

    G - guess

    N - not

    E - easily

    R - refutable

    Hi mary - right on!

These two dates ran out long ago.....in 1914 and in 1935. However, there is virtually no chance that the GB will ever get rid of these dates, because without them, they would

    a) no longer have any "validation" to their being "appointed" by God in 1919 to be the F&DS Class, and

    b) without the "closing" date of 1935 for the 144,000 this would mean that tens of thousands more might start professing to be of the "annoying".....I mean "annointed" class. And nothing is more irritating to these old goats than yunguns not remembering their proper place in the Borg.....

Both dates are pure bullshit and they know it. But since when did that ever stop them from promoting?

You remember all the unintelligible, shit in the RiGCaH, Isaiah, and Daniel books? They dont need any coherent teachings. All they need is to print some new books to sell, with some retarded garbage in them and all is well with the R&F.

They have an unlimited number of years control the minds of their followers. Remember the Generation of 1914 thing? As soon as a prophecy/prediction/understanding has proven to be manifestly false, they merely change or re-interpret the meaning of the Scriptures. They cannot lose.

This is why pointing out errors and flaws in their teachings and doctrines is ineffective in reaching most of them. The details don't matter. They are captives of a concept.

Doctrines/details/reality/Bible have nothing to do with the beliefs of cult members. They believe whatever the Watchtower magazine and Kingdom Ministry tell them to believe.
