    Thank you, that was very informative and I'm going to bookmark that page. I believe in evolution myself, but I hadn't researched this in particular. I have no idea why but I feel compelled to explain my feelings toward God and evolution at this point. I don't believe the earth to have been made in 7 literal days, I find it not out of the realm of possibility that God made everything over a much longer period of time than literal 7 24 hour periods, and that he used evolution to bring about life almost like an artist painting a mural if that makes sense.

    I used to think that way too, sort of like if god was a baker he didn't magically make a fully formed loaf of bread out of thin air but used time, heat and ingredients.

    Of course, once you go down this path you have to completely dismiss the bible as being the word of god because man didn't magically appear on earth fully formed just 6,000 years ago. 

    So you either join another equally silly religion or you become an unaffiliated deist or (like me) you join the dreaded atheist camp.
