Cursed Be The Man That Trusteth In Man
Mormon leaders have instilled a necessity for complete submission and obedience
from their followers. It is a form of mind control that conditions Mormons not to take
seriously anything that might seem to contradict or go against their beliefs-they are
not to think for themselves just trust and obey! Most do not even realize (or
wouldnt openly admit) that this is true, however, following are a few excerpts that
speak for themselves:
Any Latter-day Saint who denounces or opposes, whether actively or otherwise,
any plan or doctrine Advocated by the prophets, seers, and revelators of the
Church is cultivating the spirit of
apostasyLuciferwins a great victory when he can get members of the Church
to speak against their leaders and to do their own thinkingWhen they point the
way, there is no other which is safe. When they give direction, it should mark the
end of controversy.(Improvement Era, June 1945, pg. 354)
This practice of exercising authoritative control over the people was established right
from the beginning. Joseph Smith once stated: God made Aaron to be the mouth
piece for the children of Israel, and He will make me be god to you in His stead,
and the Elders to be mouth for me; and if you dont like it, you must lump it.
(History of the Church, Vol.6, pgs. 319-320). At another time, Herber C. Kimball,
First Councilor to Brigham Young, made this statement: When brother Joseph
Smith lived, he was our Prophet, our Seer, and Revelator; he was our dictator in
the things of God, and it was for us to listen to him, and do just as he told us.
(Journal of Discourses, Vol.2, pg. 106.) As with most of Mormonisms teaching,
the Bible speaks just the opposite. Jeremiah 17:5 says, Thus saith the Lord,
cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose
heart departeth from the Lord.
What is so sad and cunning in all of this is that the Mormon people are even lulled
into thinking that if they are ever led astray by their leaders, they will not be held
accountable for their wrong actions. Herber C. Kimball said, If you do things
according to counsel and they are wrong, the consequences will fall on the
heads of those who counseled you, so dont be troubled. (William Claytons
Journal, pg.335). President Herber J. Grand said, and if he (the prophet)
ever tells you to do anything and it is wrong, and you do it, the Lord will bless
you for it. (Conference Report, Oct. 1960, pg.78).
Again the Bible gives just the opposite warning. "Now if a person sins and does
any of the things which the Lord has commanded not to be done, though he was
unaware, still he is guilty, and shall bear his punishment." Lev. 5:17
Isaiah 9: 13-16 says:
13. For the people do not turn to him who strikes them, Nor do they seek the
Lord of hosts.
14. Therefore the Lord will cut off head and tail from Israel, Palm branch and
bulrush in one day.
15. The elder and honorable, he is the head; The prophet who teaches lies, he is
16. For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by
them are destroyed.
