Easy answer ... the WTS. and J Rutherford was still participating in Pyramidology in 1918.

Other answer ....... the WTS proclaimed that Jesus set up a earthly and heavenly Kingdom in 1874 prior to 1918.

The 6000 year dating calculation of mankind existence that C T Russell used was a false incalculable calculation, it was used 60 years further in the late 1960's by the WTS's leaders to create 1975.

These were nothing more than marketing strategies to heighten attention to the literature the Watchtower Corporation published , thats a undeniable and truthful fact.

GodZoo ....wow fantastic experience for you! Hope things work out great.

Don't you find it odd, as I do, that if Christ in 1919 actually looked upon those books & writings of the bible students with his own majestic eyes .....that these very words from the Volumes & early watchtowers are not inscribed & displayed on the walls of every KH in the world untill this very day! But no....they have been changed and called apostate literature now, and unavailable from the watchtower society! Forbidden & hidden!!!! hahahah what a bunch of crap huh?

    Love your post.

    Hows this.................

Watchtower 2013 7/15 p. 8 par. 19 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***

We first considered that the great tribulation did not begin in 1914 but will start when the United Nations attacks Babylon the Great. Then, we reviewed why Jesus’ judgment of the sheep and the goats did not begin in 1914 but will occur during the great tribulation. Finally, we examined why Jesus’ arrival to appoint the faithful slave over all his belongings did not occur in 1919 but will take place during the great tribulation

The return of Christ and the incoming GT followed by Armageddon was a workable and exploited doctrine that the WTS used to draw attention to many of its published literature..

Of course now days they are recanting on those expressed doctrines (White Wash), trying to uphold the position that god still has them as his solemnly earthly organization. Again self supporting marketing via propaganda.

So in other words they just removed themselves as the select FDSL GB members in other words.

So the next time someone is in JC and a elder asks the all important question do you accept that the GB of the WTS are the select FDSL ?

All one has to say is... " I dont because they themselves have proclaimed they dont know if they are . "

Just have him read "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" and "Can We Talk To The Dead?" both written by Rutherford around that time. If he still believes God chose this organization to dispense truth to others then he is hopeless, move on to more productive activities.

The latest "truth" in 1918 was The Finished Mystery. Any JW reading it today (not knowing who published it) would condemn it as utter nonsense and gibberish.

It contained such nonsense as Michael is the Pope and leviathan is the locomotive. One of the distances in Revelation was supposedly the distance from Scranton, PA to WT headquarters by way of the Hoboken ferry. I'm not making this up.

Whoever thinks Jesus selected the WT in 1918 should read that book from cover to cover and explain how Jesus could possibly be favorably impressed by the WT organization.

Of course one could actually use the bible and faithfully embrace the words spoken by Jesus himself when he admonished his true followers to not make a set time on God's own scared time.

Any religious charlatan that has made a calculated date of Christ's supposed return is going directly against Jesus's own direction and guidance. ....... oops

Current teaching is that they were selected in 1919, not 1918. See the QFR in the 11/15/14 WT. One thing to point out in that QFR is that the "42 months" is taken as a literal length of time yet the 3.5 days is figurative. Both time-frames are part of the same prophecy. Makes no sense.

As others have mentioned, you can use JWFacts to find a lot of info. For the 1918/1919 debate, you can point to 607 not being the year that Jerusalem was destroyed. That messes up their entire timeline. See this article to prove it from WT literature.
