I researched this not long after and if you look at the literature, this was around the time they apologised for anti-Semitic language in attempting to communicate with the NAZI regime.

It figures rank and file kept in the dark they would be quick to do a WT article if they felt they would gain by it but again "do not question gods chosen on earth or be disfellowshipped"

The WT would just laugh it off as its small potatoes compared to their Billion dollar income.

But its significant in that it represents 32 more people who could have been compensated.

Who were those potential people?

Individuals who were witnesses during the holocaust but later left the organization.

The WT fund declined to help identify or to assist them.

Have you ever heard of the Hans Dollinger letters?

Here's and excerpt from his second letter in 1935: “...never during all the years that National Socialism has fought for Germany has the Bible students Association tried to impair that fight. Neither in any talk given, nor in written form, nor its overall policies has the association made any negative statement against National Socialism. This applies to Germany and its many hundreds of thousands of co-believers as well as to foreign countries in general.”

So according to Dollinger the 'Declaration of facts' and the original letter to Hitler was not a denouncement of the Nazi regime at all. He says in the letter that they never at any time in any country spoke out against the Nazi government or stood against it. Never did they attempt to impair National Socialism. He even stated that National Socialism fought for Germany as if he respected what the Nazis were doing. He signed the letter 'Mit Deutschem Gruß'. It's worth noting that though this wasn't quite as damning as ending the letter with 'Hail Hitler', the German criminal code forbids the use of this phrase to this very day because of its National Socialist overtones.

The Watchtower Org, never backs individuals unless they have something to gain themselves. The Witnesses of that day were taught to look forward to the end of this system and were expecting a tribulation to occur. Lift up your heads and rejoice....your deliverance is near !

Today's leaders are expecting the same kind of tribulation but in the meantime, they sue the current German government for compensation for what happened during Adolph Hitler's reign.

If their coffers get low enough, I suppose they'll be going after the current Egyptian government for damages caused when the Israelites were held captive there.

As a composite "Governing Body" They have no trouble refusing to follow the dictates of the law where it is a felony to abuse children, or anyone else for that matter. And they suffer no anxiety on a moral level either. In this they are very distant and clear about NOT accepting any blame.

Yet, as composite "Governing Body", it is perfectly okay to seek compensation for people who died, suffered or what ever in those death camps.

This level of dirty money grabbing makes me shudder at the bastards outrageous, blatant greed.

I've read about this 'restitution' thing before. There were also some ceremonies or congresses, as I recall. Jim Pellechia was involved.

I scoff as the wt claim to be "Combating intolerance .."..

As a counter to this read "While Six Million Died" x Arthur D. Morse 1968 (Secker and Walburg) and read there a exhaustive account of what went on before the US entered WW2. Revealed also is the stage whereby the wt could have repatriated thousands of jw out of Nazi held territories to safety, ie Life saving safety.

But with Rutherford shunting between praising Hitler claiming neutrality and then damning Hitler(from the safety of the US) he then left the jw in Nazi lands to their fate.
