George Bush took advantage of your fears of 'Big Government' to get into office...

...so are the Democrats proponents of 'Big Government'? Do they love in-your-face politics? Do they want to give all of your hard-earned money away to good-for-nothing slobs?

    Are they pure evil?

    Let's complain about them too!

I think Dubya is an ass. However, unlike Clinton he really seems to want to stick to his word which is a good thing. I'm really unimpressed with the Democratic party as a whole. It seems like they are just pissing in the wind with all of their rhetoric. I would almost always be voting Republican if it wasn't for the fact that they turned into the God squad. As far as "big government", both parties want to tell you how to live. The Democrats want to do that through social programs and taking as much of your money as possible. The Republicans want to do it through telling what your morality and "family values" should be. I'll really never understand diehard partisan people who feel the need to trumpet one over the other. Either way your going to get screwed.

You are vastly more likely to be screwed by the democrat party than you are by the republican party. By "screwed" I mean that you are in clear and present danger of losing your individual rights, those guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, because of the machinations of the democrat party.

In support of this contention, I submit for your perusal:

"The main plank in the National Socialist program is to abolish the liberalistic concept of the individual and the Marxist concept of humanity and to substitute for them the folk community, rooted in the soil and bound together by the bond of its common blood."(Adolph Hitler, quoted in Hitler, A Study in Tyranny, by Alan Bullock (Harper Collins, NY))

"It is thus necessary that the individual should come to realize that his own ego is of no importance in comparison with the existence of his nation; that the position of the individual ego is conditioned solely by the interests of the nation as a whole ... that above all the unity of a nation's spirit and will are worth far more than the freedom of the spirit and will of an individual. .... This state of mind, which subordinates the interests of the ego to the conservation of the community, is really the first premise for every truly human culture .... we understand only the individual's capacity to make sacrifices for the community, for his fellow man." (Adolph Hitler, 1933)

There is the great, silent, continuous struggle: the struggle between the State and the Individual; between the State which demands and the individual who attempts to evade such demands. Because the individual, left to himself, unless he be a saint or hero, always refuses to pay taxes, obey laws, or go to war. (Benito Mussolini)

Fascist ethics begin ... with the acknowledgment that it is not the individual who confers a meaning upon society, but it is, instead, the existence of a human society which determines the human character of the individual. According to Fascism, a true, a great spiritual life cannot take place unless the State has risen to a position of pre-eminence in the world of man. The curtailment of liberty thus becomes justified at once, and this need of rising the State to its rightful position.(Mario Palmieri, "The Philosophy of Fascism" 1936)

"Comrades! We must abolish the cult of the individual decisively, once and for all."(Nikita Khrushchev , February 25, 1956 20th Congress of the Communist Party)

"All our lives we fought against exalting the individual, against the elevation of the single person, and long ago we were over and done with the business of a hero, and here it comes up again: the glorification of one personality. This is not good at all." (Vladimir Lenin, as quoted in "Not by Politics Alone.)

We must stop thinking of the individual and start thinking about what is best for society."(Hillary Clinton, 1993)

"We can't be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans ..."(President Bill Clinton, USA Today, March 11, 1993, Page 2A)

"The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities." (Ayn Rand)

Bill Clinton, noted Democrat and slimebag supremo, said on national television, "If the rights of individual Americans ever curtail or diminish the ability of the government to govern, then those rights are going to have to be reduced." And NOT ONE DEMOCRAT HAD ONE WORD TO SAY IN DEFENSE OF THE CONSTITUTION, OF YOUR RIGHTS.

The democrat party has, pure and simple, evolved into the American MARXIST Party.

I don't care that much for the Republicans, but I don't fear the loss of my freedoms because of them. I am convinced that if the democrat party ever regains the House and Senat and Presidency, they will arrange things so that forever more they will remain in power and then the masks will come off...and there your freedoms and mine will go.

Why do you think the bottom 50% of income earners only pay 4% of all income tax? Think carefully before you answer. Same question about how come the top 1% of income earners pays something like 34% of all taxes. This is fair? And the democrats continue to piss and wheeze about the hated rich paying "their fair share"? My ass.

I'll stop here. But I'll bet this gets interesting. In fact, if this conversation was happening in a bar, I'd give it about 15 minutes before the fists started flying.

Me? I'm a Libertarian. I don't want the damned government being in charge of much more than national defense and other constitutionally approved responsibilities.

I don't think the Democrats as a whole are evil. Not any more than you liberals can say the Republicans as a whole are evil. The evil is in the extreme elements of both parties. I happen to like the Democrats a whole lot less than the Republicans. The Democrats are the ones who want to take an ever-increasing portion of the money I earn and give it to those who didn't earn it.

Those of you who say the Republicans are "morality police" because of the Christian Right that holds so much power in that party need to see reality. The Democrats will not hesitate to be "morality police" if given the power. If you believe in the saying "you can't legislate morality" then you should be just as distrustful of the Liberals as you should the Conservatives. Since we're not going to see the government stay out of our lives either way, I'd rather see "traditional" values upheld and promoted by my government. The alternative with the Liberals is to see their own "morality police" creating and enforcing ever-broadening "hate crime", "hate speech", "anti-discrimination", and "affirmative action" legislation. I'm not a racist here, but I have read The Turner Diaries and to be perfectly honest with you I can see the country becoming something like what is described in the book if the Democrats ever were to gain Congressional and Presidential control.

I'm a Libertarian like Francois. But in the voting booth I feel that a vote for the Libertarian candidate would basically be a vote lost to the Democrat so I have to support the Republicans. I feel more secure both for myself and for my country knowing Republicans are in control. It wasn't a Republican government that stormed into Waco with armored vehicles and Delta Force "advisors" or murdered an unarmed woman at Ruby Ridge. That was Democrats in action. That was a taste of what we can expect if Democrats ever regain both houses of Congress and the Presidency.

Give me the democratic party of John F. Kennedy or Harry Truman and they would win by a landslide (They were American's first and Democrats second). The closest party to those IS the current Republican party....(you should read some of Kennedy's speaches...they were great....take care of the social issues, but let business grow to help pay the taxes and keep the government out of the individual's pocket as much as possible). As it is now, I would never vote the democratic machine. Last election I reregistered INDEPENDENT.

I think the National Democrats are a bunch of whiney, corrupt politicians (some Republicans are too, but they're not whiney cowards).

I think most of the Democrats and Republicans are Freemasons (or being controlled by Freemasons), and even though they put on a show, and act like they don't like each other, when the Freemasons (Bilderbergers, Illuminati, etc.) decide on something, then Democrats and Republicans will AGREE together and Vote the same way!

    EDITED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING:

Let me clarify this a little: I meant to say that most of the Democrats and Republicans IN CONGRESS are Freemasons (not the normal person)

Republicans and Libertarians (like myself) want a less-intrusive, smaller government. Democrats, but more importantly Democratic politicians want to "help" people. With YOUR money, not theirs. And they want all of YOUR money they can get and get away with getting.

I didn't make this up. I heard G. Gordon Liddy say it. It most succintly summarizes the difference between those two parties, neither of which I espouse. Yeah, I know ALL about G. Gordon Liddy, so save your sermons about him. I was an adult when Watergate happened.

    What comes to mind?

Clinton- monica lewinsky, linda trip, impeachment, cheating

Bush-iraq, soon there will be war, bad economy, Middle East mess, Venezuela mess, afghanistan, Enron, World com

I would choose Clinton's soap opera anytime rather than Bush's; which is personally affecting me, my family and my friends.

Those were the good old days!!!!!!
