Okay, guys, this is my first time starting a forum, so be kind. How many of you have watched the movie "Joe vs. The Volcano" (1990 - Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan) and what did you think of it? I would've posted this in the TV/Movies section BUT I found a lot of parallels to our situations and feelings about the Witnesses as Joe moved through his life. Just watched it again tonight for the first time in years and cried buckets. Some people I know adored this movie and some hated it - any comments?

Undoubtedly, the worst job ever. The buzzing neon light, the boss on the phone...the job we all are glad we don't have.

One question: what was the meaning of the recurring zig-zag shape throughout the movie? Never did figure that one out.

That was a metaphor for "tacking".

The winding road of life is the way I thought of it. Everybody gets the same road - it's just where you choose to take it.

As for the job, try the boss in the role of elder and see where it takes you . . . .

I would say it is one of those movies Tom Hanks wishes he never did. Although, "Bachelor Party" and "The man with one red shoe" might also rank up there for him ... perhaps he can blame it on the "Brain Cloud" from Joe.

All I remember about the movie is one of my favorite oldies song: Come Go With Me by the Del Vikings.
