I read Blondie's great summary of Today's Watchtower lesson and thought about all the Christians who died from various deaths for preaching the Word and because they really believed what they preached The Watchtower asked something of this sort, "If you were a Christian in the Early Centuries, could you boldly stand up to all the exquisite tortures hurled at the First Century Christians because they were not afraid to take a stand for Christ or be cowards to evil!"

Are you aware of any condemnation made by the Watchtower against Radical Islam or any actions showing their courage and being no part of this World? They attack patient Christian religions but what about others, where is their courage?

The Watchtower has made scathing attacks against Christendom, where is this same courage when speaking about a religion that attacks homosexuals, puts atheists in prison if caught, cuts peoples hands off for stealing, stones men and women to death? Where is the courageous Watchtower and Governing Body's condemnation made against Radical Islam, does it exists or they just a bunch of cowards afraid of getting killed by suicide bombers? They sure attack Christian religions with a poisonous tongue, have they took at stand against Radicals like most Christian Religions have or not?

I am not going off on Islam, all I want to know is if this group of writers and men were to put themselves back in the shoes of the First and Second Century Christians, would the shoes fit or would they be cowards? Almost no followers of the Watchtower Society are emulating what the First and Second Century Christians practiced and it gets worse as time goes on! The qualities the Watchtower preaches as being good are only found during the 20th Century or by Cult Leaders like David Koresh or Jim Jones! The Watchtower had to drop Pastor Russell from their list of Anointed because even he would condemn the current leaders of the Watchtower as useless or worthless fake Christians.

Justin Martyr in his dialogue mentions that Christians do not practice abortion or allow children to die by exposure. Justin say's Christians take the children because they will end up as sex slaves or worse if allowed to be taken by ruthless people. Jehovah's Witnesses are not helping with adoption agencies, working with victims or helping the Poor, they want applause for doing nothing! The Early Church Fathers and letters mention the vast amount of good the Christians did for everyone, not just their own members!

Islam commands it's members to give to charity, they got the Watchtower beat on that basic tenant of humanity. Maybe the Watchtower might get more members if they were not so selfish and focused on their leaders!

Have you ever noticed the Watchtower constantly tells it's members through talks and writings they need to "do good to Christ's brothers (meaning those at Bethel since all other brothers of Christ are questionable or mentally ill) only, they rarely speak about doing good to the members in the congregation? All focus is on the structures, not those who attend them, everything about this religion is based on numbers and what you can see, how does the Jehovah Witness Religion expect to stand up to the Great Persecution when they have no courage or love binding it together, they are truly the "Religion of Hate!"

    skepticSam,

"The Watchtower has made scathing attacks against Christendom, where is this same courage when speaking about a religion that attacks homosexuals, puts atheists in prison if caught, cuts peoples hands off for stealing, stones men and women to death?"

Why should the Watchtower condemn ISIS for doing the same things that are mentioned in the Old Testament?

Why would they condemn the people who practice they very tactics they wish they could, if only the law of the land allowed it???

They take, they do not give. They do not do charity because they have no love for their neighbor. The big shots don't even care if the members have nothing to wear, nothing to eat, or roofs over their heads. Certainly there are no funds set aside for those truly in need.

Anyhow, 1-st Century Christians were "Witnesses to Christ". They were brave and relied on their relationship with their Lord and Savior. (Not some book factory) Most actually saw Christ perform some miracle or the other.

You already know "Jehovah Witnesses" are pretty much wannabe ancient Israelites & not Christians in any sense of the word. Christ is too soft hearted, to merciful for them. Plus he was always talking to women.

Besides, if it came down to the GB putting themselves in real personal danger ... not a peep from them. Seriously, they can't even get the light bulbs right about God's word.

They attacked the methods employed by the Crusaders, Inquisition Tribunal and the methods used by the Witch Hunts in Europe and the Early United States Colonies. I fail to see any valid responses to the question, your aware they made vicious attacks on Christendom for those very things mentioned or not? The Watchtower has taken a stand against what they perceive the Masses hating but where is that same desire to speak out on behalf of the Masses, did it whither and fade away???

Voltaire said "I wish people would behave as Redeemed instead of preaching Redemption" but than again not everyone was part of the Crusades, Inquisition and Witch hunts so why am I complaining the Watchtower's failure to bring up ISIS and ISIL?

Need to add about radical Islam:

Er, I don't think they have the balls for that. Sure NY wouldn't care about some lowly publishers paying the price for their chattering.

However, Islamocrazies don't operate like that. They go after the people in charge and their Headquarters with military precision. They don't seem to like NYC anyway. Just another excuse to topple something there.

Lawyers can't intercede on that. So mum's the word. Besides, JWS are strictly "Western", not much is ever said about the religions of other cultures.

I know the Governing Body has no clout, maybe if JWs saw the Governing Body and writers of the Watchtower as impotent in issues like this, they might think further down the line.

Do you see the Middle East and Africa imploding all around us? If we had people invade the West how would we react? These people are filled by rage like we would, they were puppets to topple Syria and now these toys by the CIA and Military Industrial Complex are out of the bottle and willing to die for their beliefs, most people are not willing to become a suicide bomber. Did you watch the videos in Tunisia and the Neutral Germans getting slayed by mad men doing what was done to them? Are you worried we might get engulfed in a massive situation if the USA and it's leaders keep on screwing with the Middle East?

Lieu, I heard a few Southern Senators speaking on topics like "boots on the ground in Crimea", "Boots on the ground in Ukraine", "Boots on the ground in Taiwan", "moving in to topple North Korea"! With the great success in the Middle East one would think these Warmongers and puppets of the Military Industrial Complex might shut their horrible mouths. What's worse is the Christians who are claiming that it was a good idea to go in to Iraq, Libya and Yemen and stir things up! They are not Christians under the Christ we believe in, they are part of this World of destruction!

Now the Christian Religion, ability to not believe in anything, or belief we don't know and maybe God, gods don't care" is going away. I would like to ask the Christian leader who spoke out on the benefits of invading Iraq when George Bush was in power because he said the Christians there gained more freedom. How can that be so if they have lost almost all their churches in Iraq and going extinct in Libya too?

They might criticize Christi-SCAM-ity--that is, outside their own version. Do they criticize Judaism? No. Do they criticize Islam? No. Do they go into Israel and openly bash Judaism or go where Sharia Law is in force and openly bash Islam? Do they battle for the whole truth, bashing the lies regardless of whether or not it is politically correct?

Or, even when they do bash those groups, they claim to have love for those practicing them. Either a group is doing its best to ruin society (and those taking an active role need to be exposed and stopped), or it is not. Either a religion is doing its best to find the truth, or it is not. Yet, the washtowel hypocritically proclaims love for all and non-discrimination while practicing bias of all sorts. This confusion and hypocrisy is blatant--if they were taking the stand for freedom and justice, they would openly bash slavery and injustice regardless of its source (the Torah, the whole LIE-ble, the Quran) and do so consistently. Do they? No.
