In an effort to keep their people from using the window cranks as sundials --
"When the hell is the meeting going to end?!"
"Oh 15 minutes, the cranks silhouette has almost reached the window trim!"

I know of 2 Kingdom Halls in my are that had windows....
I think they don't have windows, so board people don't have anything to distract them..... or maybe they're just so damn paranoid that they think a disgrunteled ex may take a shot at them through the window. Or maybe because windows might too tempting for someone like me perhaps to keep driving by flashing them during their Sunday morning Watchtower study.
