The CO's visit is actually the equilavent of a bi-annual sales meetings.
Its intent is to spur the salesmen on to greater and bigger numbers by praise for the things done and constructive criticism on thngs that can be improved upon. Increases in numbers and figures is the of all corporations goal and even thanking God for their good fortune is not unheard of in the secular world.
