Hay Guys dying for what you believe in--------- does not impress me. Killing for what you believe in has the same effect. 90 million NAZIS thought the same thing. Just because you have a believe in something at a present time means nothing, I had believed once that the JWS was God's choosen people, I had a believe once that my country was the choosen one also. I was willing to die for both and kill for one of them!

People are dying and killing ever day for what the believe in, they strap T.N.T. to themselfs and walk into cafes.

I respect them has much as anyone who whats to use violence to solve the worlds problems.

Does the end justify the means?

After 9/11, I saw on one guys car, written "NUKE THEM ALL"

and "PROUD TO BE AMERICAN" I maded a sign an put it on my car "PROUD TO BE A HUMAN BEING"

Your country is just has RIGHT as your religion IS, or was.

New Boy, first of all, I don't post to impress anybody. Everyone is more than welcome to agree or disagree with me, that is their right. Like everyone else, I have my opinions, and you kow what they say about opinions.

Secondly, I don't know of a single guy that went off into harms way to die for what they believed in. Yes, the thought was there that it could happen, but we covered it over as much as possible. However, the intent was to help out a people that called for help. That it was mishandled from the top doesn't make it any less traumatic or necessary.

Vietnam seperated this country as much, if not more so, than did the Civil War.

As to the ends justifying the means, look about you. Could much of the terrorism happening around the world today have been prevented if we had been allowed to actually fight Vietnam as a war and not just in the haphazard manner directed from the White House? SOmething to think about and probably no clear answer to it.

But, it all does show how we have been seperated, doesn't it?

hey QUANTUM, You don't know me well enough to comment on my life style. I am not going to defend my life to you or elaborate on my position in life. I have done that over the past two years, and those who have read my posts know me and my activities. I will say that my posts here are just a hobby compared to my other projects. Thus, brother Quantum, you know not of what you speak.

you didn't put enough info in your bio to to fill "mustard seed"

How does one fall for the kind of nonsense that the JW's preach in the first place?

This little corrupt cult has been expelling their excrement for over a hundred years. With the kind of intensive & extensive profusion the WTS engages in it's interesting the small number of adherents in this country and the totally lopsidedness of there numbers in mostly 3rd world nations. Does it have anything to do with education? Greater enlightenment? If these are the unknown parts of this equation, than why does anyone in this country join. Could it be that there is a very small "3rd world" metality in this country also? And these people are just plain gullible? That you can't really help these kind of people because they don't EVER listen to anyone which is demonstrated by the problematic lives they lead?

QUANTUM, You said you read my bio, then in the next sentence you ask why people fall for it? Well, how did I fall for it pray tell. It was spelled very clearly in my "Who's Who' bio. As I said, I have written extensively about my education, career and research on various threads, so what do you care to know anyway?

I,m wondering how so called bright educated people fall for such trite as what the sociey puts out. There isn't anything about their teachings which REMOTELY resembles the teachings of the Bible. I can understand differences of opinion which can and do arise where interpretations of the Bible are concerned. What baffles me, and apparently 99.9% of everyone else in the world, who have had there time wasted by one of the "SLAVES" at there door, is how can every single doctrine which they profess be 180% different from all other Christian churches....Even the Jews are not as far off. why do people believe such rediculous teachings. But of course the factor which I have not included in my statements very clearly is that there will always be people who will believe any kind of a lie or follow any kind of a tyrant....after all the JW movement is really of no consequence to anyone but themselves. With the exception of the headlines they are making of late........... which is why my comments.

larc, you're wasting your time because if your reasons for being here are anything but the downfall of your ex beloved church then your here for sympathy which is as meaningless as ignorant people giving there money to TV evangelists. I read recently that the JW's are the least educated of all the churches in the USA. Thats something to be proud of .....which the WTS actually teaches....go figure....I have talk to many freinds who are JW's who argue for this kind of stupity....Now tell me they are not brain washed ...and yes..I too am wondering why these people have been freinds....well, I like ignorant animals too.

QUANTUM, You said you read my bio, when obviously you did not. You hark back again to the statement regarding people falling for this religion. How does that apply to me? Please explain specificly how your remark applies to me. Now, on another thread you tell us we should do things to bring down the organization. I asked you what you are doing, what you plan to do, and what you think we should do. I got no answer from you, so could you state specificly what should be done? I hope my request is clear enough for you. Now, why do I come here? Well, I come for a number reasons, one of which is NOT, I repeat NOT for sympathy. I challenge you to find one post out of thousands I have made that is an attempt to garner sympathy. You see, I have been out of the religion for 40 years and I have no residual effects by now, none whatsoever. Now, after reading several of your posts, I have concluded that you are all talk and no action. I hope you prove me to be wrong.

Well larc, unlike you I'm not so concerned at what people say but as to what they do. I've briefly danced through some of your posts and I mostly caught a glimps of braggadocio. Now I don't know if your a professor or one of the three stooges. What I have recognized is some one who is over sensitive.

40 years ago you were a JW. What did you do before the internet? Has all of your frustration been building up all of these years to finally surface. Where did you vent before? Or did you? And why have you not moved on to something constructive.....My god man....you've had enough time to have made a name for yourself as a defender of the weak and down trodden. What have you been doing all these vital years? I would think that a man with your professed background and training could have started doing something years ago.

I've already made some suggestions at other posts. They are not earth shattering, but they are reasonable and thats why I feel they will fall on deaf ears. People who come here are here for themselves....it's a plain and simple fact. Much like when people are finally able to move out of the slums they never look back or care for those they have left.

However, if there was someone who had initative and a burning desire to help his fellow ex's he would need to begin by establishing a bank.....of people and money....Then they together would have to organize the faithful ex's in locating the abused. They would need to be careful as to not offend the faithful adherents but to go for the jugular. Catching bees with honey ect.. The primary impetus behind this marshalling of devotees is one who can continue to inspire. Anything worthwhile..... is worth doing well and with vigor. ARE YOU THAT MAN larc?

QUANTUM, Some comments 1. braggadocio on my part. From your writing style, I would say that we share that characteristic. 2. Professor or the three stooges. Actually I am a retired professor and one stooge - I am not a trinity. 3.Before the internet - I lived my life, got an education, raised a family, and had some interesting jobs. 4. Frustration and venting - didn't have frustration or a need to vent. I went about the business of living. I only got involved with this after I retired. 5. Move on to something constructive - yep, see #4. That's what I did. 6. What have I done WT wise - well, I have made a few contributions over the years, but I am not going to take the time to write these out. 7. Am I the man to do whatever it is you expect me to do. First off, I am not clear what you expect me to do. My question back to you is, are you the man to follow your own advice. I still do not have a clue as to what you are doing.

QUANTUM, You make this rather ambiguous cammand that we, and me in particular should to something. Well, let me review some of the things that have been done. 1. At least 20 books have been written about the JWs. Just curious, have you read any of these? 2. Numurous support groups have been established. Are you aware of any of these? 3. Significant websites have been established which provide very large amounts of important information about the JWs. To look at these, go to the bottom of this page and click into these. At the sites, you will find links to many more sites. 4. Just last week, a mass mailing of a letter was sent to Kingdom Halls, elders, and WT headquarter members. Were you part of this effort? As I stated before, there has been very significant efforts of the type you suggest.
