The Jazz Crusaders were as big as any Jazz group has ever been.

Wayne Henderson and Wilton Felder of the group were JWs.

Joe Sample was the keyboardest and enjoyed a long and muscially fruitful life, a great creative force in Jazz.

Here is Way Back Home performance live.

Weird. Just played some Crusaders a few minutes ago. Wilton has been very ill as well, I heard.

Like they say, "Put it Where you Want It." RIP Joe.

One of the greatest jazz musicians Joe Sample is dead , very sad. Time flies on by. I have a few of his solo cassettes in my music collection. Rest in peace Joe loved your keyboards. Very cool touch

Saw the Jazz Crusaders years ago at the Santa Monic Civic Auditorium, guitar great and friend Larry Carlton performed with them.

Wilton Felder, sax player with the Crusaders, and a trio of JWs played at our wedding reception.

Some things out of the past, the JW years, you get nostgic over, it wasn't all bad.
