"A Pioneer class was each given one [a jw.org umbrella] by the CO who taught the class. I think we have to get our own made as they cannot be sold because of copyright laws."

"So I've been seeing lots of JW.ORG items like JW.ORG pins for the campaign in August, ties, ect...things that some are saying the elders in their congregation are encouraging and have had made or purchased for their congregation.."

" A local congregation has been going to festivals and fairs as "vendors" and are [h]aving amazing success. They made prototype bags with the jw.org on it and our co sent it to the branch for approval. They are looking for giveaways at these events. "

"this is all getting too commercial now. Whats next playing cards and napkins? Maybe baby booties? Why is it I feel that the tables of the merchants need to be over turned? By someone with a rope whip and Jehovah's spirit coursing is way through his veins."

I see a funny scenario developing, where the efforts of JW's make the Logo bearing products desirable, perhaps in a fashionably ironic way, but the WT cannot stop other people selling items using the logo, and then the WT missing out on all that cash !

If only they would be honest, and admit they are a Multi-Billion Dollar business, they could protect their trade-mark.

Problem is then the cat is out of the bag, and, unthinkable, they would have to actually contribute something to Society by paying Tax.

Perhaps somebody should get Jesus' whip out!

I notice that on the back page of the last two issues of the Watchtower, the little blue square that says JW.org also has a small-print "tm" by it. Apparently, the trademark was approved or purchased from the previous owner.

Traditionally, the TM is used to indicate that the owner considers this a trade-mark (unregistered).

Once registered, the ® is used when it is a registered trade-mark.
