I guess somebody should tell the Watchtower, there not religious:

"This is a business association merely; it was chartered as a corporation by the state of Pennsylvania, and authorized to hold or dispose of property in its own name as though it were an individual. It has no creed or confession. It is merely a business convenience in disseminating the truth."- Zion's Watch Tower, November 1891.
"Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society is not a religious society' in the ordinary meaning of the term; for it has no creed or Confession of Faith. It is purely a business association, whose mission is to serve in a business manner the wishes of its beneficiaries who are represented in its officers." Zion's Watch Tower 1894, p. 330.
"Zion's Watch Tower Tract Society is only a business association (has no creed or confession). It merely represents a fund entrusted to its officers for use to the best of their judgment in the spread of the Truth-especially of those truths set forth in Millennial Dawn and Zion's Watch Tower, by means of which many of the
donors have been brought, by God's mercy, out of darkness into his marvelous light. The funds donated are under the direction of the Editor (who is President of the Tract Society), just as they were used before the Society was organized." Zion's Watch Tower 1895, p.181.

    What an interesting concept
    - wonder if they understand that if they are not a religon that they are not entitled to the tax free shelter from he IRS
They alss can not be the "True religon" then either - as to be the true one you would have to be one...

Actually RR, after the new light came from the IRS (inspired re-imbursement system) it turned out that the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society - the legal representatives of Jehovah's Witnesses (hired by jehovah himself) was a candidate for becoming a religion because, they also printed their own literature that they called bible-based and their sales force was organized and worked for free.

It was all fore-told as well. (see their literature)

What a concept! I wonder at what point in time the considered themselves becoming a religion?

Classic mistake. Quoting literature more than a hundred years old and applying it to the modern organization called Jehovah's Witnesses.

    Russel Founded Zions Watchtower.

    Rutherford Created Jehovahs Witnesses.

    Knorr Built an Institution.

    Franz Crafted a Cult.

Cults are religions. Even the bad ones.

    It is called Evolution.

RR associates with Bible Student groups. When he posts stuff like this, he is trying to show how far from the early days the modern organization has come.

RR also has a great beard.

    Hy
Great way to put it short & sweet.
Easier to see that each had their own false prophesies, goofy claim to fame and hush hush scandal.
I think this should be in chart form as an extension of Russell's pyramid chronolgy map.
Would really put things in perspective eh?

I wonder if the bible student groups are still only businesses, not religions, in accordance w their founder russel's official pronouncement?

Cool Cyg, didn't know that. That puts his post into perspective.

    Saint Satan yes.

There are for instance the Dawn Bible STudents and you can buy all of Russels works from them.

There are many russelite groups still around. And they still have contentions. I almost went to one last year but didnt have the money :( to make it.

It's hard to believe that the bible student groups don't consider themselves religion/s now. Does that mean that their publishing house/s, conventions etc pay taxes as regular corportions do?
