FACT NUMBER ONE:
The writers and leaders of the Watchtower claim it isn't mere imperfect men making their best guesses who publish these things needing "refinements".
"This chronology is not of man, but of God. Being of divine origin and divinely corroborated, present-truth chronology stands in a class by itself, absolutely and unqualifiedly correct...." (Watchtower, July 15, 1922 p. 217)
This puts the blame for error on GOD and absolves the men running the Watchtower.
FACT NUMBER TWO:
In a Trial in Scotland (Walsh) in 1954, former Governing Body V.P. and counsel for the Watch Tower, Hayden C. Covington testified under oath:

Members must believe false teachings so that unity may be maintained in the congregations.
Q. Is it not vital to speak the truth on religious matters?
A. It certainly is.
Q. You have promulgated - forgive the word - false prophecy?
A. We have. I do not think we have promulgated false prophecy, there have been statements that were erroneous, that is the way I put it, and mistaken. Q. It was promulgated as a matter which must be believed by all members of Jehovah's witnesses that the Lord's Second Coming took place in 1874?

Q. That was the publication of false prophecy?
A. That was the publication of a false prophecy, it was a false statement or an erroneous statement in fulfilment of a prophecy that was false or erroneous.
Q. And that had to be believed by the whole of Jehovah's Witnesses?
A. Yes, because you must understand, we must have unity, we cannot have disunity with a lot of people going every way, an army is supposed to march in step.
FACT NUMBER THREE:
Shunning is a human rights problem and not a question of voluntary participation by members.
Disfellowshipping means you lose your friends and family (who are required to shun you.)
What's the big deal?
You live in a free country and cannot express distress that you've been told something is TRUTH and then have it changed... on penalty of losing your family? That's not a big deal to you?
Criticism of the leadership was constantly happening in the day of Jesus and his apostles--but--it is NOT ALLOWED by JW's. Do they hold themselves
to higher standards? Are the Governing Body above criticism?
They are supposed to be SLAVES and not Lord it over people.
If you cannot question what the GB publishes as "true" and cannot speak up later when that is changed to something else...
how can you correct them?
Are they above correcting?
Didn't the Apostles not confront each other when they felt they were teaching something wrong?
FACT NUMBER FOUR:
The Governing Body is embarrassed by the fact they are stuck teaching the INVISIBLE presence doctrine for 125+ years.
Please notice:
The magazine was first called,
In 1909 The Society dropped the word Zion from the title and called it,
From its first issue in 1879 to 1938, that is for the first 60 years, the Watch Tower magazine's title contained the words "Herald of Christ's Presence."
Then, on January 1st 1939 the magazine’s title was changed to,
The Watchtower and Herald of Christ’s Kingdom .
On March 1st of 1939 the Society changed the title to its present form,
The reason the Watchtower magazine was originally created was to "HERALD CHRIST'S PRESENCE ."
Yet today, “Christ’s Presence” has been eliminated from the title.
