Ah, I've never thought about this before, interesting point. I suppose the Society could go either way. Since JWs are not even supposed to take their own blood in a transfusion if it's been separated from their body and stored, that would indicate that any foreign blood at all is wrong. Or they could say, "Well, this is artificial like blood substitutes, so we'll permit it." It might get them out of the tight spot their doctrine places them in.

10 bucks says they'll make it a "conscience matter".
Word on the XJW grapevine says that they've been trying to quietly phase out the blood ban for years (without actually looking like they're phasing it out, of course).
Full-on synthetic blood would be a godsend to them.

There has been 2-3 cases of jw's using hemopure in the news, its cows blood and the gb has not said a thing or told ones not to take. They want to push the blood doctrine under the rug and hope it goes away.
