Please explain God's wisdom in Judges19;22-30

    EdenOne: If you wish to claim the authors of the bible did not view women as a sort of property it is not a very logical argument to say people in general viewed women as property at the time. In fact, that would seem to support my view.

    I was countering your implicit notion that the writer of Judges was exceptional in his view of women; I merely argued that the writer of Judges is just being consistent with the worldview of his time.

    The rape has nothing to do with a sexual orientation, but it is a question of dominance and humiliation. Homosexual rape occurs in prisons, happened during conquests of enemies by Romans, Ottoman, or Russian armies. It was about control, revenge, or punishment. Book of Judges is considered indeed older than Genesis, even when it writes about events after Moses and some part of it is probably the oldest written text in OT.
