Couples School?

Has anyone heard about "Couples School" at their local KH? Is that like marriage counseling? My elder cousin was apparently teaching it?

Wonder what it really is?

Marriage counseling? It would go something like this....."all marriage problems and issues would be solved if they did more meetings, study, and service".

It's a joke school. It's an arrangememt to boost the egos of those attending. They can't make the cut at Beth-hell, so they go to the BSCC. It's what desperate and aging JWs do to appease Jehovah of the Watchtower. A trained chimp could teach the material, no offense to your cousin. It's just another boring pseudo-spiritual marketing class for the corporation.

Look up "BSCC" on this site, short for "Bible School for Christian Couples". It's not marriage counselling, it's WT brainwashing course for couples wanting to reach out. Sort of Gilead lite for those who always dreamed of going to Gilead but never made it. Also with the difference that afterwards, you should be ready and willing to be sent somewhere - on your own expense... unless if you're sent there as a Special Pioneer. Most are not assigned as Special Pioneers but they keep that possibility as an incentive to lure couples in.

Actually couples school will be axed soon. It will be replaced by School for christian evangelizers.

It is "Gilead lite" - only 8 weeks long.

It is an intense propaganda course, designed to make JW couples into "organization men".

Once the school is completed, the couple is sent to some god-forsaken village on the prairie of North Dakota, or similar, at their own expense, and be expected to "encourage" the local congregation.

@kneehighmiah is that school also merging with the single brothers with the addition of sisters? or are they separate?

Last year in a letter dated November 6, 2013, it was announced that a new school will replace the Bible School for Single Brothers (formerly known as the Ministerial Training School) as well as the recently formed Bible School for Christian Couples.

The new school will be called the “School for Kingdom Evangelizers.”

This new school will include married couples, single brothers and single sisters.
