What is "The Truth"?

To JW's if you think about it, this is what "The Truth" is....

"The truth" is that you must be in 'the truth' and spend every waking moment you have getting others in 'the truth'. Anything the governing body says to do is 'the truth'. Anybody who is not in 'the truth' will die. All meetings and literature and assemblies are to constantly remind people to stay in 'the truth' and to obey 'the truth'. Then recruit others to also follow ' the truth'.

In summary the truth is obeying the governing body and finding others to do so as well.

Anything the GB says is "the truth" until they change it.

It's interesting how important it is to be "In the Truth"

I re-examined the July 2013 WT on the Wheat and The Weeds.. Below are a few highlights.

"During harvest season, the weeds are destroyed and the wheat is gathered." "That harvest season began in 1914." "After 1914, the angels began to “collect” weed like Christians by separating them from the anointed “sons of the kingdom.” The angels “will pitch them into the fiery furnace. > "That means complete destruction." "those former adherents of false religious organizations will be destroyed during the final part of the great tiribulation" "Jesus judged them to be true Christian wheat - but he rejected all imitation Christians, including all of those found within the churches of Christendom."

This is new to me.. They are suggesting that any one who is a member of Christendom, at any time after 1914, will receive everlasting destruction. (Which to a witness suggests annhilliation) .. Crazy

Another gem is found here - That vital work involved restoring Bible truths. The Bible Students taught the true meaning of Christ’s ransom sacrifice. If you have studied past JW beliefs regarding the ransom and compare them to the teachings now.. You will discover a large contrast.

So what are the differences in the meaning of the ransom over the years?

Just as long as you appreciate that what you have is "present truth" which is very probably going to morph into a "new light" (like a caterpiller into a butterfly) the next time the Annual Meeting is held by the GB.

Perhaps the Org should adopt one company's disclaimer and print it on the inside cover of every publication:

"All products, product specifications and data are subject to change without notice to improve reliability, function or design or otherwise."

"Whatever the party holds to be truth, is truth."

What's crazy to me is - they explain all this complicated seperating/choosing/gathering work beginning a century ago that would concern an entire generation of people that are now dead.

They are dead!! Obviously not very important to any everlasting kingdom purposes.

They seem to forget their own interpretation of Rom 6:7 - "For the one who has died has been acquitted from his sin."

So these dead folks - seperated/labeled/gathered/whatever - now have a clean slate before God because they paid the ultimate price. So none of this blather matters a hill of beans!

Idiots. Making up crap as they go. They better forbid education. It's the only way they will ever sell this crap.

July 15 2013 Watchtower "Look I am with you all the Days" verse 6 - "What is the larger fulfillment of Malachi’s prophecy? During the decades leading up to 1914, C. T. Russell and his close associates did a work like that of John the Baptizer. That vital work involved restoring Bible truths. The Bible Students taught the true meaning of Christ’s ransom sacrifice"

Here are a few selected quotes :

“When as a result of the ransom, he [man] is granted another trial, an individual trial, under the eye and control of him who loved him…we may be sure that only the wilfully disobedient will receive the penalty of the second trial. That penalty will be the second death [annihilation]”

"FROM the outline of God's revealed plan, as thus far sketched, it is evident that his design for mankind is a restitution or restoration to the perfection and glory lost in Eden.

"According to God's arrangement in providing a ransom, all mankind, unless they wilfully resist the saving power of the Great Deliverer, must be delivered from the original penalty, "the bondage of corruption", death, else the ransom does not avail for all. "He "gave himself a ransom [a corresponding price] for all," in order that he might bless all, and give to every man an individual trial for life."

"To claim that he gave "ransom for all," and yet to claim that only a mere handful of the ransomed ones will ever receive any benefit from it, is absurd; for it would imply either that God accepted the ransom-price and then unjustly refused to grant the release of the redeemed, or else that the Lord, after redeeming all, was either unable or unwilling to carry out the original benevolent design."

    End Quotes -

    And now a scripture.

    Galatians 1:8

8 However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond the good news we declared to you, let him be accursed.
