    So I don't know what's funnier:

That this is making its way around the JW email circuits...

That this seems to be "celebrating" their redundancy...

That this seems to point out it's been 100 years since 1914...

Or that someone cannot count. This is 101 years of Year's texts (only 100 texts, but 101 years). (2014's text being the same as 1914's.)

Maybe they won't ever have to write a new Year's text. Will 2015 be "Are you able to drink of My cup?" (Oh they can't seem to count that number, either...)

I searched to see if this was already posted and didn't see it, but if it was, sorry for the duplication. And the formatting. I copied this from an email I intercepted.

1998 “Everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved” (Ro 10:13 )

The first edition of the" Aid To Bible Understanding" acknoweledged that Yahweh was probably the more correct pronunciation of Gods name , however they have stuck with Jehovah because it was/is the more popular name used in literature . Are they interested in truth and accuracy here or are they playing for popularity.

The same could be said of Jesus name , if christians pronounced jesus name as ye`sus or whatever why cant we ?

Re-interpreting a name is no excuse in this modern multi-cultural world.

What does the Kingdom Interlinear say regarding this scripture , knowing that the tetragrammaton does not appear anywhere in the christian greek scriptures .

So their is no justification at all of inserting jehovah or yahweh in the christian greek scriptures , keeping in mind that GOD`S holy spirit is directing things.

From 1914 to 1931 the name jehovah is not mentioned . C.T Russell recognised the emphasis was on jesus who christians were to put their faith in.Phil.2:9-11

" Judge" Rutherford then decided to distance himself from mainstream christianity and create a" new " christian religion by reverting back to the old testament that had the tetragrammaton erroniously translated as JHVH , where it should have been more like YHWH . Search Raymundus Martini .

SMIDDY - The context and wording of Romans 8:13 which speaks of "the Lord", indicates that it is referring to Jesus, not God Almighty! The Jews ALREADY knew God and had faith in him, (mainly) but the name by which everyone could get saved was the name of JESUS CHRIST, not the Divine name! Hence the reason why Jesus' name had to witnessed about, not God's name.

Isaiah 62:2 - "... be called by a new name, which the very mouth of Jehovah will designate.

Acts 11:26 - "the disciples were by divine providence called Christians."

Matthew 10:18 - ".....for my sake, for a witness to them and the nations.

Mark 13:9 - "......before governors and kings for my sake, for a witness to them."

Acts 1:8 - "You will be witnesses of me...."

John 1:15 - "John bore witness about him..." [JESUS]

John 5:37 - "the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me."

John 8:18 - "the Father who sent me bears witness about me."

John 15:26,27 - "..will bear witness about me; and YOU in turn, are to bear witness."

Acts 4:17,18 - ...upon the basis of this (Jesus') .... upon the basis of the name of Jesus.

Acts 10:39 - "And we are witnesses of all the things he [Jesus] did..."

Acts 10:43 - "To him [Jesus] all the prophets bear witness....."

Acts 13:31 - "who are now his (Jesus') witnesses to the people.

Acts 22:15 - "because you are to be a witness for him [Jesus] to all men......"

Acts 22:20 - "......the blood of Stephen your [Jesus'] witness was being spilled..."

Acts 23:11 - "..... a thorough witness on the things about me in Jerusalem..."

    Acts 26:16 -"I [Jesus]..choose you as an attendant and a witness..respecting me"

1 Corinthians 1:6 - "even as the witness about the Christ..........."

1 Tim. 2:6 - "..what is to be witnessed to at its own particular times.

2 Timothy 1:8 - "............of the witness about our Lord.. [Christ]"

1 John 5:9 - "the witness God gives...the fact that he has borne witness concerning his Son."

Revelation 1:9 - "....for speaking about God and bearing witness to Jesus."

Revelation 12:17 - ".......and have the work of bearing witness to Jesus."

Revelation 17:6 - "........and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus."

Revelation 19:10 - ".....the work of witnessing to Jesus.... bearing witness to Jesus."

Revelation 20:4 - "............ for the witness they bore to Jesus."

James 2:7 - "They blaspheme the fine name by which YOU were called, do they not"? (Christians, NOT JWs)

1 Peter 4:14,16 - If YOU are being reproached for the name of Christ, YOU are happy, because the [spirit] of glory, even the spirit of God, is resting upon YOU. But if [he suffers] as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name."

    .................still waiting!

1931 “The Lord preserve all them that love him ; but all the wicked will he destroy.” Ps. 145:20.

....was this the start of the JW's (or whatever they were called then), becoming bifurcated in their thinking?

So, since 2014 is the same as 1914, does that mean the WTS is celebrating Jesus's 100 years on the toilet throne? Or is it merely evidence that they recycle the same bullshit over and over again?

    Smiddy:

however they have stuck with Jehovah because it was/is the more popular name used in literature .

I started using the term "New Testament" among JWs (instead of "Christian Greek Scriptures"). If asked, I'm going to give the same reason (i.e. 'For the same reason I use the name Jehovah, it may not be technically accurate, but it is what people are most familiar with.')

This is a list of DCs and year's texts. It shows a different text for 1914.

I do not belief, that the GB will take the same year's text 100 years later.

    fastJehu,

You are probably right. I guess whomever started circulating this drivel is actually an unwitting apostate.

And now the giddy rank and file are spreading a great falsehood amongst their brothers and sisters.

I still think it's funy that the twit that started this called it 100 years of texts, when it is actually 101. They always have had issues with what to do with that year they start with...
