a single member of the Governing Body, for example David Splane, I find it helps me to understand things a little better.

They have changed the meaning of 'faithful and discreet slave' to basically just 'the Governing Body'.

But that still allows them to print nice friendly 'we' and 'they' when giving directions (orders).

"We need to obey David Splane to have Jehovah’s approval." WT 15/7/11 p24

"[A mature christian] does not advocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding. Rather, he has complete confidence in the truth as it is revealed by Jehovah God through his Son, Jesus Christ, and David Splane. WT 1/8/01 p14

"Since Jehovah God and Jesus Christ completely trust David Splane, should we not do the same?" WT 15/2/09 p27

"To act consistently with our baptism for life and into the Greater Noah we must submit to and cooperate with David Splane and his legal instrument, the Watch Tower Society." WT 1/10/59 p583

"There are many reasons to have complete trust in David Splane. First and foremost, Jesus has appointed him over all his precious "belongings." This is a clear indication that he has complete trust in him." Organized to Do Jehovah's Will (2005) p.18

When the time comes to clarify a spiritual matter in our day, holy spirit helps David Splane at world headquarters to discern deep truths that were not previously understood. WT 15/7/10 p22

"The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of David Splane they are in fact following their Leader, Christ." WT 15/9/10p23

"He has provided direction for the anointed “domestics” and their “other sheep” companions by means of David Splane. WT 15/9/10 p26

"As Head of the Christian congregation, Christ has used David Splane to administer His Kingdom interests on earth. Examining the Scriptures 2012 Jul 15

"However, we cannot hope to acquire a good relationship with Jehovah if we ignore those whom Jesus has appointed to care for his belongings. Without the assistance of David Splane we would neither understand the full import of what we read in God’s Word nor know how to apply it." Examining the Scriptures Daily 2012 Mar 4

"All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the "greatly diversified wisdom of God" can become known only through Jehovah's channel of communication, David Splane. WT 1/10/94 p8

But I want YOU to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the Christ is David Splane." 1 Corinthians 11:3

Anthony Morris III (aka: The. Turd) has got to be the biggest Turd in the entire GB. The man is a total looney-tune.

JW's may say it's only the FDS when they (GB) are all together. But how about Rutherford before there was a GB. At that time there was only him. One person. He WAS the FDS, him alone. So what would JW say about that ???? His name would be interchangable. No way around that one. I love your idea and will use it in the future. Thanks !

Hasn't the new light indicated the the fds is, in fact, just the governing body and not the complete group of annointed?

" Hasn't the new light indicated the the fds is, in fact, just the governing body and not the complete group of annointed? "

That is correct. Not even the hand-picked disciples of Christ or the countless Christians burned as torches in Rome were faithful and discreet slaves, only certain male members of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society since 1919.

Here is a good line of thought.

YOU: So Mr. JW, who decides what goes in the Watchtower magazine.

JW: Well, that would be those who take the lead.

    YOU: Who is that??

JW: We refer to them as the Governing Body.

YOU: Where is that in the scriptures?

JW: Blah, blah, blah....faithful slave...blah, blah.

YOU: Oh, so annointed ones make up the FDS?

JW: NOT all of them, just the ones at World Headquarters?

YOU: Oh, interesting. So what about all the changed doctrines? People say that JW leaders are false prophets..

JW: Oh NO!! The GB are just imperfect men. They are not inspired prophets.

YOU: I see. So they are just domestics like you?

JW: Yes, they are domestics with the heavenly hope.

YOU: But they interpret what the Bible says and what you must believe?

JW: Yes, they are the channel that God uses.

YOU: So how does the "slave" thing work? Are all the GB the "slave?"

JW: Not as individuals. When they come together, they are the FDS.

YOU: So the individuals are imperfect, fallible non-prophets, prone to mistakes, but you believe what they say?

    JW: Yes.

YOU: Who tells them what to teach. Do they just guess?

JW: No! They use the bible and are directed by holy spirit.

YOU: So the GB members are imperfect and make mistakes, correct? They come together as the prophesied, spirit directed FDS at JW World Headquarters, correct? They decide what you are to believe as the FDS and print it in the WT magazine, correct?

    JW: Yes, that's it exactly!

YOU: I know the GB are imperfect as individuals, but is the prophesied, Holy Spirit directed FDS imperfect and fallible as well? The composite FDS, chosen by God, makes all the decisions, corrrect? So what happens when the collective spirit directed FDS is wrong? What happens when the whole collective group teaches something that is wrong like..[ insert false teaching here]? Who's teaching was it? God's?? When something is taught incorrectly for decades like ...[ false teaching], was it God's fault? Was it Jesus' fault? Was it the Holy Spirit's fault? Are YOU as a JW, required by GOD to believe something that is incorrect??

    JW: uhhhhhhh.......

Once you get a jw to admit that the watchtower is not "inspired" you end up with nothing. Although they will use the word - "spirit direct," which is meaningless.

Putting in the names makes it clear they are just men... sort of like the Wizard of Oz when the curtain was pulled aside.
