@ Stand - This is the first time I've heard you objectively question and use critical thinking skills about what the WT Org is doing...

    GOOD FOR YOU!

Also I believe it was in Ray's first book that what was going to be studied at book study was often determined by what surplus of old books was lying around and the need to get them out the door. When I first read that it sickened me; it's not "food at the proper time" it's more books sold to the rank and file at the financially proper time.

Well their statement still stands valid. They said about 2 million hadn't yet studied the book, and that is about 25% of todays JW population.

Gypsey, I don't believe SFTW changed sides. Just that he/she is trying to empathize? I think its a good thing.Empathy is immensly important.

SFTW, I think that the Revelation book will NEVER be studied again. I predict in 4-5 years they will release another one, since so much has been changed. What they really need.....is a real reasoning book. Unfortunately dsince the WT has such an aversion to scholarship and education, it probably would be a lost effort. It really is too bad.

Have I missed something here? Is Stand for Pure Worship actually speaking critically of the org??

Let's take a look at the ten-year growth in the countries I have lived in since 2003 (I'm curently back in my homeland, New Zealand):

    PEAK PUBLISHERS"

    Country 2003 2012

    New Zealand 13,624 13,969 +345

    Australia 61,682 66,023 +4341

    Denmark 14,648 14,411 -237

    Japan 217,508 217,154 -354

Do the math. Keep in mind this is for peak publishers over several years,

Sure, there's growth - but you have to look in third-world countries to see anything of substance. But there's also shrinkage. Funny the publications do not mention that.

When you've got nothing new or persuasive to say, serve the same old, same old.

"Stand for Pure Worship" has had at least 3 other IDs on this site.

He currently serves as an elder, when he isn't yanking the chains of newbies by posting as if he is a true-blue believer.

Here is an organization that is already experiencing low meeting attendance (something like 30%) and now the JW rank and file are going to be subjected to the 'Draw Close Book' a second time.

This book probably played a major role in the downward trend in meeting attendance in the first place and now WT wants to go over this book again. Good luck with any hopes of improving meeting attendance with this old book. Instead of helping attendees 'draw close', its' going to distance them even more from meetings.

WT just shooting itself in the foot again!

thats also where they get all the attendance numbers for the memorial count the kids.

So very true! Back in the days before I became a piztjw I was "privileged" to count the attendees at the meetings. I counted those who appeared to be listening. Not those who were sound asleep, not the two day old newborns, and not the pre-school brats who were busily coloring their Jack and the beanstalk coloring books. I was royally chewed out for that and told that EVERY body was to be counted! When I asked how someone asleep, a baby, or kids coloring could be considered as actually ATTENDING to the meeting I was told my efforts were no longer needed as I was being argumentative against the BOE. What a bunch of crap!
