Can Spirit-Directed Organization Lie?

When God says something, it is like the meaning of Traffic Signal: Red Light means ALWAYS STOP.

When spirit-directed organization says something, it is like “shining ever brighter till the full light of day,” (Proverb 4:18) and then it becomes dimmer and dimmer and at the end of the day darker and darkest,
thus Red Light’s meaning becomes START!

Yes, a spirit-directed organization can lie. That is why Bible says the following:

“Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”—1John 4:1

Hence, there is nothing wrong in JWs using the term “Spirit-Directed Organization.”

“Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”—Revelation 22:11

Any organization can lie to get ahead and accomplish their goal. When you mention the first of John, it is implying that a group of people can be spirtually directed regardless of the almighty God. Does that mean an organization can be led by evil spirits?

    Prologos:

"And the Lord said, ‘Who will entice Ahab into attacking Ramoth Gilead and going to his death there?’

“One suggested this, and another that. 21 Finally, a spirit came forward, stood before the Lord and said, ‘I will entice him.’

22 “‘By what means?’ the Lord asked.

“‘I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said.

“‘You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the Lord . ‘Go and do it.’

23 “So now the Lord has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The Lord has decreed disaster for you.”--1King 22:20-23.

What a fitting verse from the Bible itself!

    Thank you, prologos

... Then the spirit is directing to Organization to lie. However, there's a problem with that. The story quoted above is about how the spirit deceived an apostate king of an apostate nation (Israel). Ahab was an enemy of YHWH's true prophets (Ahab surrounded himself with lots of false ones), thus an enemy of YHWH, and He wanted him dead.

The question is, is there a biblical precedent where the spirit lies to and deceives God's faithful servants? Post the example if you find one because I can't think of any instances.

If it can be established that God never deceives His own faithful servants, then:

    1. The Org. isn't really spirit-directed,

    Or

    2. The Org. ignores spirit-direction (which makes it unfaithful),

    Or

    3. The spirit deceives the Org. because the Org. is God's enemy (cp. 2 Thess. 2:11).

JWs organization is spirit-directed organization; yet that spirit is not of God.

Proof is that God never CORRECTS his own teaching (Numbers 23:19; Malachi 3:6; Lamentation 3:22, 23; James 1:17; Hebrew 13:8), and it is IMPOSSIBLE for God to change His teaching (Rev 1:8; Hebrew 6:18) but the spirit that directs JWs organization does change teachings.

The only spirit directing the Organization is that of men not God.

There has NEVER been an Organization, Nation, or Church directed by God's spirit. Israel went wrong many times, Christian Churches have gone wrong many times as well, so do Organizations.

In the NT it is INDIVIDUALS God has blessed with his spirit not whole congregations/churches/nations and these individuals have been able to give proof of God's spirit upon them. Until the Governing Body can provide such proof they are no greater than any other Christian and should not impose their will upon others. This of course goes for every leader in every Christian church as well.
