I was born-in and six years old when this article came out. I was told that I would never finish high school in this system. I fully believed it. However, I secretly hoped it wasn't true because it was in 1975 that I discovered, well, a certain pleasurable solo activity that pubescent children discover, and so I was convinced I wasn't worthy to be spared at Armageddon.
Anyway, these quotes are no problem for the WBTS. Just blame everything on the R&F and change history...

I dont think the WTB&TS have ever admitted they were" wrong " about anything , they have always sidestepped that word " wrong" it is just not in their vocabulary .
The rank and file have often run ahead of the Society , jumped to wrong conclusions , been over zealous in their expectations , read more into what was printed in the magazines than what was intended by the faithfull slave or the GB .
And just because we go by the name , Jehovahs Witnesses doesn`t mean we prophecy in Jehovah`s name , if he doesnt come to the party then dont blame us , take it up with him .
We are blameless .

I was one of those people that made decisions based on this false prediction. I was baptised in 1969, graduated high school in 1972. Of course I didn't go to college, why waste time getting an education in this old system, when the big A was coming? It amazes me that the Watchtower now pretends they never taught this. I was approached by a dub while sitting in my car recently. She said "yes, SOME thought the end was coming, they went ahead". Right, like some faction of the org was teaching something wrong, when it was their teaching. It's crazy, they now pretend they didn't say what they said. Liars.

What other religion today but JEHOVAH's Witnesses have presumptously predicted things that didn't come true in JEHOVAH'S NAME?
Deut 18:20-22 “‘If any prophet presumptuously speaks a word in my name that I did not command him to speak or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die.+ 21 However, you may say in your heart: “How will we know that Jehovah has not spoken the word?” 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word is not fulfilled or does not come true, then Jehovah did not speak that word. The prophet spoke it presumptuously. You should not fear him.’
It makes this quote from p. 338 of Vindication I (1931) all the more ironic:
"There was a measure of disappointment on the part of Jehovah's faithful ones on earth concerning the years 1914, 1918 and 1925, which disappointment lasted for a time. Later the faithful learned that these dates were definitely fixed in the Scriptures; and they also learned to quit fixing dates for the future and predicting what would come to pass on a certain date, but to rely (and they do rely) upon the Word of God as to the events that must come to pass. Jehovah has spoken his word and will perform it, and the Scriptures seem clearly to indicate that Jehovah will grant to his faithful witnesses the privilege of seeing his great 'act', thereby proving that his witnesses have spoken his word of truth according to his will; and that this he will do before his witnesses are 'changed' into the glorious organism like unto Christ Jesus'. This is not predicting dates, but is merely calling attention to events that must come to pass because clearly set forth in God's Word."

The WTBTS likes to blatanlty lie!
The GB make their "best" guess and call it "direction" by Jehovah's angels.
When it becomes demonstrably wrong they go silent and let time pass.
Eventually, changes are made and the cycle begins anew.
The GB expects everybody to be marching to the same tune--theirs.
They collectively assert it is better for everybody in Jehovah's organization to be wrong TOGETHER!
This is far more pleasing to Jehovah than each member using their own best judgement.
Why?
The answer is glaringly obious: THE GB WOULD ALWAYS BE WRONG while many others who didn't follow them would be right!

So who is lying GOD or THE WBATS/GB??? The WBATS/GB will have you believe they are chosen and inspired by GOD who is the most holy, infallible, perfect, supreme being, who cannot lie,etc... but GOD then turned around and made a holy inspired guess and told them the end was in 1975??? So GOD inspired them to come to this date and subseqently lie to millions of innocent people and disrupt their lives??? Is that what the WBATS/GB wants me to believe??? Then to turn around and say it was a couple of over zealous publishers, putting the blame on them for not going to school and selling thier houses??? Sad to say some still do... 7 million in fact!!! Also happy to say many have left!!!
