In the story of Lot ( I think), wasn't there a man who literally gave his concubine to a crowd of men and from the scriptures they abused her all night until she was dead. her owner tries to get her to get up and get on the donkey but she is of course dead. I used to know all these stories by heart but if you know what the exact place this text is located I'd appreciate it.

    found it

"The reason, why I gave that title to this particular story, is that (to me), it strikes at the very heart of modern concepts of what God is and does?

And, in addition to the conflict between this biblical story and the statement, 'that no man can see God and live,' it must cause us to ask, if the Bible contains 'stories' that demonstrate contradictory ideas, just how was the bible compiled." - fulltime

That was not Jehovah. You are assuming that Abraham was being accurate.

The remover of foreskins from 200 Philistines is a little disturbing,

especially when it was a bet by Saul. 1 Samuel 18... And who was responsible

for this sadistic act, good old boy David.

And you wonder why we have the problems in the middle east today.
