I saw a documentary yesterday about a woman who had escaped from the fundamentals LDS/Mormon church. Unquestioning obedience was Warren Jeffs' mantra, too. The women suffer terribly. I feel so sorry for the little girls getting molested. This woman, the very last time she spoke with Warren Jeffs, was told, "I will break you."

She and her sister were key witnesses in Jeffs' trial. She wore red at the trials of Jeffs, a color Jeffs forbade her to wear when she was an "insider." She was such a courageous woman!

He expected to live as a God, having sex with 12-year-olds the rest of his life. Instead, hes in prison for life. Although I loathe the man, I feel badly that he grew up as the son of "the Prophet" and, as a result, saw this god-like existence as his birthright. In a way, he was led down the garden path, too.

I'm still glad he's locked away and can't hurt any more children.

. And with what mental attitude did they pursue their studies? With a skeptical attitude, trying to prove Paul wrong? No, they were altogether unlike Paul’s critics on Mars Hill, for we read that they heard Paul’s testimony with “the greatest eagerness of mind.”—Acts 17:11, 32.

These Beroeans listened with a readiness, yes, an eagerness, to believe. Thus not only were they open-minded, but they were wanting to have this “good news” proved true. In fact, for a person to acquire faith he must have “the will to believe.” If he is determined not to believe, then no amount of evidence will convince him; for if a person looks for them he can always find excuses, plausible reasons for not accepting the accountability that belief will bring upon him.

As the apostle Paul well said: “Faith is not a possession of all people.” (2 Thess. 3:2) But the Beroeans had the will to believe. They considered what they heard with a receptive frame of mind. As a result, “many of them became believers, and so did not a few of the reputable Greek women and of the men.”—Acts 17:12.

Jesus’ disciples wrote many letters to Christian congregations, to persons who were already in “the way of the truth.” (2 Pet. 2:2) But nowheredo weread that those brothers first, in a skeptical frame of mind, checked the Scriptures to make certain that those letters had Scriptural backing, that the writers really knew what they were talking about.

Acts 17:11 : -- carefully examining-- WETHER these things were [REALLY ?]*so."

In other words ANALIZING wether there was scriptural basis OR NOT, since the scriptures were kept in the synagogue.

The synagogue was an open for research? discussion place.

Try that in a Kingdom Hall today.

The days of true Christianity are gone. not to be found in Wt land.

Of course the brothers would love to believe what is put before them, but bitter experience shows that

the latter day " inspired (spirit directed) expressions" can not be trusted.

    One false prophecy after another,

    one correction after another.

white wash, rewrite of history after another,

    a 100% failure rate.

lessonfor all: keep " carefully examinig WETHER these things are really so?"

you will be pleasantly surprised that they are not.
