    I've contemplated sitting out and playing my piano as protest. But i think it's a waste of time trying to talk to jehos. It's all about placating them and who has time for that nonsense.

    The UBM was offended, and he let them know it. The attendant was embarrassed and apologized.

    I posted about my first experience. You can see the conversation (with pictures) here:

    I would have some signs with the WTBTS's favorite Hedge-funds on it. Or their name on the OSCE's website. Or a giant poster of the 1968 Awake next to the false prophesy, and the "special talk" outline. Then people could see the recycled spiritual soylent green for themselves.

    Silly of them to make it even worse by forming a human chain. Unnecessary. Most JWs are scared enough and will stay as far as they can. But if there's any hint of a confrontation, people will look. It's human nature.

    "I think that when a person puts too much info on a banner, sign etc trying to explain UN/NGO, Mexico vs Malawi it get too crammed and hard to read at once. And you know that a true JW does not want others in the area seeing that they are taking a peek."

    Absolutely. Every single JW that passes by will glance at you and your signs but will not stop or stare as to not be criticized, so the message has be something that can be read in about half a second. Jwfact.com is a great short ad, because it is easy to remember and make people curious.

    If anyone got too close to us, one of the attendants would take that person by the arm and escort them away.

    That is not acceptable, even to fellow dubs. They should never lay hands on someone. If they had tried it with me, even as a then believer, I would have objected strongly.

    Perhaps it would be beneficial to have an extra person with a smartphone and when the attendands were "dancing" then leap forward and say, "Smile, you are on YouTube!"

    Anyway, well done for your efforts...we should give praise where it is due

    I agree on the need for a message to be quickly assimilated, and we're already thinking about next year's signs. One of our signs says "New Light or New Lies?" That's simple and direct, but could be considered offensive.

    @OnTheWayOut

    I agree that we need to target pre-teens and teenagers. I like "Wouldn't you rather be out playing?" or even "Meetings are boring!"

    The attendants and their jw supervisors have some idea that they are in law enforcement. Most locales have security and/or law enforcement working in the convention site.

    Yes the shorter the message the sweeter the results. Wouldn't hurt to have some plants with acceptable dress and convention lapel cards stop and start talking to you even disobeying attendant orders to give a concrete example of JW over rideing information control.
