Oh my God! I went to that Hall a few times with my grandmother when we moved here. I probably met the creep. This child abuse has to stop!!!!!
I thoughts and prayers go out to the family going through this and I hope they bleed this man of everything he has and send him to jail for the rest of his life (New Mexico doesn't have the death penality anymore that's off the table for this creep).
I just watched the news video and I remember meeting the mom. It's hard to deal with the reports of abuse when it's different states or different countries but when it's someone you met and right here.......

How many times has the Watchtower or the Governing Body TOLD the jw's NOT to go on or comment on 'apostate' comments and that is exactly what they do. The JW apologists don't even listen to their own GB and then tell us go back. This is certainly fascinating to see them not following WTBT$ "counsel" commandments laws and yet they want us to "repent"

Yes a JW calling himself "Mr Big Picture" is trying to say it is simply due to "imperfection"...Hmmmm we've heard that one before haven't we??? Here is what he wrote, and my responses to him thus far:

I am sorry that you feel this way as a former witness you should know very well that when you walk into a Kingdom Hall you can not tell who are the elders from the publishers nor do they lord it over the congregation. However with that being said some may allow it to go to their head their position. That is called imperfection, just like we all are but for the most part all the elders are humble well respected citizens and spiritual leaders. It is sad to see that when ones are disciplined or disgruntled they tell half truths. I think you and every one should hold JUDGEMENT until you get the WHOLE story.

Mr Big Picture- The argument that it is only one or two imperfect men doing these things no longer works, as this is a systemic problem within the JW movement, not a local one of limited scope. WT Society policies intentionally shield offenders, as evidenced by the internal letters they have sent out to JW elders as well as the secret elder handbook that the elders are issued. Unless there are "two witnesses" to the abuse then they remain silent and the abuser goes on his merry way. Candace Conti was recently awarded many millions of dollars in a court of law over this issue.

Thank you seriously for your reply because only if we talk about it openly can you get true information. I use to be an Elder for 10 years the "secret green book" you speak of is only for the elders but it is nothing special and you may even find it on ebay or at garage sale.lol But there is nothing earth shattering or secretive but it's how it's used like the Bible, some people can read it and benefit, other's use it as a coaster or a show piece but if it is used skillfully it can benefit many. There is not a systemic problem as a matter of fact go to a number of congregations find an elder because they do not stand out with robes, hats, etc... and ask different ones what is their policy regarding reporting sexual abuse of any kind. I guarantee you will get the same answer. The two witness scriptural citation is a valid teaching however when it comes to this type of a serious matter, NO. Please read the context around the scripture to get a better understanding. The policies with headquarters are set to assist any victim in a loving way. There are imperfect men & women in the organization, just like any so I'm not saying this did not happen I do not have all the details, nor does any one but I hope as all witnesses hope that justice is done. But until then let's not cast a stone a the people or the organization until we have all the facts.

I have heard more than one elder say that their secret handbook is "just a book" and contains nothing "secret". I've never heard it compared to the Bible though, which I find reprehensible. It is WAY more than just a book to them, and contains things like a loophole on how an elder can confess to fornication after hiding it for several years and be forgiven without the congregation ever knowing and he can retain his elder position. That is found on page 38 if you would like to check it out for yourself. The most recent elder book is called the Shepherd book and elders usually refer to it as "KS10" since it came out in 2010. You are sincere Mr Big...you just don't have all the pieces of the puzzle that is obvious. The WT Society also had a governing body member that was twice accused of molestation, and he was quietly dismissed in 1984. Shame on WT for covering these things up, it is disgusting.

Thanks ray/JJ, I've been following all these comments on the news channel website and it amazes me the depth of cognitive resonance they possess. I bet I could also tell them a few things that they don't even know about their own religion, right out of their own literature. Nice job on defended Shyla's comment.

The WT and its Elders are so dishonest. They won't even admit that the "Shepherd" book is secret and is "eyes only" exclusively for Elders. Here's what the cover letter in the 2010 edition says in addition to the permanent comments in the forward material. Sounds pretty secretive to me:

"Since the release of the new Shepherding textbook, several elders have asked about the possibility of having their textbook spiral bound. There is no objection if an elder personally spiral binds or laminates his own textbook or does so for other elders. If he has another baptized brother who is not an elder do the work for him, the elder must watch while the work is being done. Outside companies. unbelievers, or sisters are not permitted to do this work. The material in the book is confidential, and confidentiality must be preserved. "
This publication is congregation property. A copy is issued to each appointed elder. If an elder is deleted for reasons other than moving to another congregation with a favorable recommendation, he should turn over this handbook to the Congregation Service Committee. The secretary should keep the book in the congregation's file so that it may be returned to the brother if he is reappointed as an elder. No copies are to be made of any part of this publication.
I would expect a lot of these type of lawsuits comming more often as time goes on because there is tremendous sexual repression going on in the JW comunity, as in they even tell their members who can hear with a special video posted on the net: that Jehovah hates masturbation, so guess what they are shoveing in their shadow(jungian term) all these forbidden masturbaters, yep the strongest driving force there is, is, sexual desire(passing on DNA and reproducing) and it will make you do all kinds of crazy things when you repress it, think of why the Catholic church has such a problem, ie->they forbid priest to marry. Now think of how much worse it must be for JWs who are forbidden to masturbate, no oral sex, no pornography, no unclean thoughts, the list is pretty big and covers a lot of ground sexually? Lots of lawsuit comeing down the pike becuase of these sexually repressed and repressing GBs.
The Watchtower Corporation is in big trouble over this issue and they are doing all the wrong things to fix the problem because they are eveloped in wishful thinking and black and white thinkiing, not to mention delusions of grandure over appointment to be a spokesmen of a mean and cruel Deity who is always right. They are in denial and so they make all the moves to hide it and some how hope it is going away but they cannot take measures to to really come to grips with the problem.
