Shortly after our stepson came to live with us he attended his first birthday party - for a cousin. He was really unsure about it and didn't have a very good time. By the time his rolled around six months later he was really into the spirit of things! We have a big family and after about the sixth party featuring a cake with candles he realized that demons weren't going to jump out of the cake and Jehovah wasn't going to fry his eyeballs on the spot.
That's when he REALLY started to get angry - at all he had missed.

sounds like a wonderful success story. There are too many youths that are wasted and screwed up in the borg. I'm glad you were able to deprogram your stepson. Give him a birthday hug for me.
