Does it make sense for God to take 14 billions years to prepare the earth for mankind"

He makes everything ready for us and within seconds we

destroy it. If the earth is over 14 billions years and the short time

we have been here, it,s like seconds( humans present) compared to

age of the earth. Do you think earth wasn,t made for us humans, we just

happen to come along for the ride.

I'm not completely sure but I think the 14 billion figure is the estimate for the universe. I think the estimate for the earth is something like 4.5 billion, give or take a month or two.

If the earth is the first and only, things do seem skewed a bit. All that time for just this.

But if one were to look at the earth as the first of many, then the perspective changes.

    Take care

Yup, that's pretty much what I think.

But God does not live in time. He is beyond time. Kronos vs. chronos. Time does not matter to God. If you ask me as a human, God is not a good steward of the nontime he does. Does this get very complicated if Einstein and newer particle physics theories are added.

What proof do you have the Earth is 14 billion years old?

According to your post you have put the Earth before the creation of the Universe! LOL!

Band on the run : try to think of it this way instead:

God (if any) DOES LIVE IN TIME, just as we do. but:

GOD (if any) does NOT MOVE through TIME as we do,

try,- as you move through time, braking, as you would your car MOVEMENT. take your TIME to think about it.

Bobcat: in can be argued that for the earth to have this composition (elements cooked in super novae) and this orbit (, Sun, distance, velocity, moon stabilization, Jupiter protection,) all of the 14 plus billion years have to be figured in. created or evolved.

If it took Him just over 4 billion years say, "He" could have made a better job. There are some horrendous problems with the planet, from a human standpont.

One is it is almost all water and we don't have gills.

Another is the movement of Tectonic plates and the consequent earthquakes, plus eruptions from volcanos etc

Then you have all the creepy-crawlies and viruses etc that cause death and disease, it ain't the safest of homes, this planet.

Bobcat: the latest estimation for the age of the universe

14 billion (history channel). Yes the earth 4.5 billion, but as

Prologos stated,"the earth have the composition (elements etc)

of 14 billion years. So according to Genesis, all this was in preparation

    for the coming of mankind.

The program also stated, the earth at one time had 6 hours days before

it was tilted by an asteroid. OK this was new to me, didn,t know OK, LOL.

    Jam:

The point I was making was a comparison -

If this planet is the only one to be inhabited by humans, then, the creation of a 14 billion light-year wide universe would seem a bit excessive.

On the other hand, if earth is simply the first of untold numbers of planets to be inhabited, then, that changes the perspective of the 14 billion year preparation

Why are we so obsessed with the idea God liked us best?

As I see it we were his biggest disappointment. Remember

he did try to wipe us all off the face of the Earth once and were

constantly irritating him, and he had to send down his own son

to try to straighten things out and we killed him. I think God has

billions of other planets that are doing way better and he has some

connection with the animals on this planet we don't understand.

Animals are probably reporting back to God on our behaviour.

WE are some lower form of life in the universe.

What is your dog telling god ?

That dog is watching you for a reason.
