The broken COUNTDOWN CLOCK to Doomsday

The very satisfying nature of events which are behind us is that they EXIST as history.

There is nothing provisional or speculative about occurances that have already taken place.

We have written records in black and white as to how the word "generation" was manipulated over the years by the Watchtower.

The GB was looking into the future each time they employed "generation" in order to leverage the readers of their publications into

    activity.

There is no better way to prove the dishonesty of Watchtower leaders than to examine the entire history of the "generations" teaching!

When 1925 turned the President of the Watchtower Society into a "jackass" all credibility should have ended for him.

He was the new leader with wrong predictions. The old leader with wrong predictions, C.T. Russell was dead.

That was a score of 0-2.

"Millions Now Living Will NEVER Die" was a package deal ending in 1925.

    1925 was empty of fulfillment.

But, cycnically--the idea of using "generations" alive in 1914 who would live to see Armageddon proved too tempting to discard.

The carrot at the end of the stick was a kind of weird PROOF JW's embraced with great emotional enthusiasm.

As the 1914 "generation" grew older and older their aging process served as a terrifically dramatic COUNTDOWN CLOCK to doomsday!

The only other weird "proof" was the diminishing number of the "elect" or anointed who slowly evaporated toward Armageddon as well.

You looked at the old folks hobbling into the Kingdom Hall who were connected to the Watchtower's phony 1914 scam and you were looking at

living "proof" there was very little time left!

But, the intellectual dishonesty of Watchtower leaders began to show itself clearly over time.

As those telltale geriatric faithful began dropping like flies the GB started to sweat a little. Just a little...

They began to hedge their bets and insert weasel words into articles about END times "signs".

Awareness of guilt by liars signals itself when the story changes ever so slightly. New versions are dissonant with older tellings!

The guilty GB squirmed under the ever-shortening fuse leading to a full exposure of a feckless teaching!!

They backed off by increments growing less specific and more general.

RE-defining a word is the work of the propagandist and a cult leader!

What the Watchtower had been emphatically teaching was clear enough and dramatic enough in the early days--but---less and less so over the years.

As 2014 loomed large, how many of the 1914 "generation" deathwatch could remain?

The NEW "understanding" was a desperate ploy full of cynical weasling in FULL VIEW of the old JW's who had hung on for years and years hoping against hope it all wasn't a pile of steaming shit!

Worst fears were realized as the definition of "generations" was stretched into a meaningless deconstruction of semantics.

The secondary teaching that the anointed would be fewer and fewer was also a nightmare of obviously ridiculous disproof!

The ranks grew larger and larger until an amazing declaration of "mental illness" was necessary to rescue the sacred ranks from infiltration!

How cynical this is---judging the anointing of the very Elect--just to escape being made the public liar on the part of Watchtower leaders!!

We can all learn from this. All of us.

These facts aren't tenuous at all. They are, as I said at the first, IN BLACK AND WHITE a matter of record.

Follow the trail and we can all see that Judge Rutherford wasn't the only "jackass" leading the Watchtower religion on a merry chase of ignorance and lies until exposure renders them all FOOLS.

Can the Watchtower leaders give even one biblical instance of the bible's use of generation as "overlapping"?

    Wiki:

Usually, a familial generation is defined as the number of years equivalent to the average age of a mother at the times she has her children, which for the sake of convenience is traditionally regarded as 25 years; in short, a generation is 25 years.

I see the scientists allow the real doomsday clock to run backwards, if world events dictate.

22 Joseph stayed in Egypt, along with all his father's family. He lived a hundred and ten years and saw the third generation of Ephraim's children. Also the children of Makir son of Manasseh were placed at birth on Joseph's knees.

Joseph lived to 110 and saw 3 generations of his own son's children.

Count his son Ephraim as a generation also and you can say 4 generations occured within a period of 110 years.

So,all that is required is simple math to determine that a biblically understood generation is approximately 110divided by 4 or 27 1/2 years.

Their "clock" has stopped. Their 'holding pattern' is turning into a lot of static.

"The irresistible conclusion therefore is that Jesus referred to the new creation [the anointed] when he said: ?This generation shall not pass until all these things be fulfilled.? This then would be a strong indication that some members of the new creation will be on the earth at the time of Armageddon."? Watchtower 1927 Feb 15 p.62

or, is it the wicked worldly people?

"So it was on ?this generation? that the accumulated judgments were to fall. (Matt. 23:36) This therefore means that from 1914 a generation shall not pass till all is fulfilled, and amidst a great time of trouble." Watchtower 1951 Jul 1 p.404

so, should we question this understanding?

"The length of time is indicated by him when he said, "Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur." (Matt. 24:34) The actual meaning of these words is, beyond question, that which takes a "generation" in the ordinary sense, as at Mark 8:12 and Acts 13:36, or for those who are living at the given period." Watchtower 1951 Jul 1 p.404

    Hedging their absolute confidence?

"The Bible does speak of a man's days as being threescore and ten or fourscore years; but it assigns no specific number of years to a generation.-Ps. 90:10. Some persons living A.D. 1914 when the series of foretold events began will also be living when the series ends with Armageddon. All the events will come within the span of a generation. There are hundreds of millions of persons living now that were living in 1914, and many millions of these persons could yet live a score or more years. Just when the lives of the majority of them will be cut short by Armageddon we cannot say." Watchtower 1952 Sep 1 pp.542-543

    Some things are obvious!

"Jesus was obviously speaking about those who were old enough to witness with understanding what took place when the 'last days' began. ... Even if we presume that youngsters 15 years of age would be perceptive enough to realize the import of what happened in 1914, it would still make the youngest of 'this generation' nearly 70 years old today." Awake! 1968 Oct 8 p.13

Uh-oh, more NEW LIGHT taking the definition back to the OLD light understanding!

"Thus, when it comes to the application in our time, the "generation" logically would not apply to babies born during World War I. It applies to Christ's followers and others who were able to observe that war and the other things that have occurred in fulfillment of Jesus' composite "sign."" Watchtower 1978 Oct 1 p.31

    GB having a panic attack

"If Jesus used "generation" in that sense and we apply it to 1914, then the babies of that generation are now 70 years old or older. And others alive in 1914 are in their 80's or 90's, a few even having reached a hundred. There are still many millions of that generation alive." Watchtower 1984 May 15 p.5

Oh, I guess NOW they've finally got it right--eh?

"In the final fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy at Matthew 24:34-39, to what does the expression "this generation" refer? Jesus apparently refers to the peoples on earth who see the sign of Christ's presence but fail to mend their ways." Watchtower 1995 Dec 15 p.30

    Terry excellent.

WT 's clock has stopped. here is an analogy from the cosmos, relativistic physics.

when you are going to enter the region of a black hole, a certain destiny, and you

are fond to SPIN, as WT is, your speed reaches c and at that speed, to outside observers, time, the clock stands still, it is stopped.

are you not glad they are over the event horizon for you?

Want to know how you can be one of the chosen few who will live through this traumatic event ?

Read on or contact any JWS congregation for information.

Its almost like this religion was started by a professional salesman or a lawyer .

I always appreciate your analyses, Terry, and this one is no exception. What I found interesting about The Watchtower articles from 1951 and 1952 is the urgency in them. But there is a reason for that. The WTS had hinted very strongly that Armageddon could very well fall in either of those two years.

Why was that? The Society had secretly hoped that the thirty-seven year span from A.D. 33, when Jesus gave his great Olivet prophecy, to A.D. 70, when Jerusalem and its Temple were destroyed, would have a parallel in the twentieth century. Many were hoping Armageddon would strike in the early 1950s and magazine articles and assembly talks fostered this thinking. Of course, those expectations failed just as they had in 1914 and 1925.

While the WTS isn’t trumpeting dates today as it did in the past, I don’t doubt that many Witnesses are looking forward to the autumn of 2014 as another special time. I will be very interested to see how the WTS manages its flock during another period of excitement and flux.
