You can read the artical on the above link.

A short story about Nancy a conservative christian who states to the minister she wont be attending his church again because the reasons being she doesn't like the drums. Also the people are too friendly to each other and to new people visiting conservative churches aren't like that. According to 'Nancy the truth is important as well as character perfection before jesus comes.

Some of you might be amused, I was. Barry

I relate liberal churches to those who advocate for the poor through government channels, and conservative those who have drums and no women preachers. At least that is what it is like in my neck of the woods.

Here's a liberal church with a good reputation http://www.stpauls-anglican.ca/, probably conservative by your definition.

Here's a black church that can't carry a tune, that nevertheless has lively and dynamic services, heavily depending on the Holy Spirit. Shiloh Baptist Church.

Gday jgnat, I just thought that link captured the feeling of conservative and was ammusing .

Of course liberals can be those who believe evolution, have women pastors and don't believe the bible is inspired at one extreme but not necessarily. Liberals may be just more open to the community and have a happy vibrant religious community that talks a lot about Jesus and has drums.

It,s funny to look at the history of churches (mainly music

in the Baptist churches). My mom, as a young adult didn,t

like the new sounds, it sounded to much like the music in

the nite clubs, we kids loved the new sound. When we became

adults, drums, guitars, saxophones. My sister, thanks it,s to much.

Now they have the dancing (I think it,s called praise dancing), my

mom is turning over in her grave. The music my mom loved sounded

just like KH songs. WE (kids) refered to those old songs as,old slave songs. LOL

I have recently been attending a liberal church. They have great music, very lively, very wecoming, active in charitible works. There is no way I am going to anything even remotely like the dubs, I could not force myself to sit through even one hour of that.

The churches with lively services around here have flags, tamborines, ribbons, and dancers. Kind of like this:

    Dancing

Yet they are conservative politically. No women pastors, for instance.

jgnat: That could be a drama at the JW assembly, minus

the cross. That,s what I call a lively service.

Yes, it is a catholic service. There are charismatic catholics.
