FRANKIE- The Moody Blues made a song about Timothy Leary titled " Legend of a Mind ". Pretty cool song. I'd post a you-tube of it, but my wife and I are listening on the computer to " coast to Coast with George Noory " right now - a program exposing Scientology. I'll post the song later, unless someone else does soon. Take care

TL was just a popular counter culture personality of the 60's, who gathered popularity by young impressionable adolescents in universities.
His promotion of psychotic drugs was just an embellished part of the rebellious exuberance of the social counter culture movement during
that specific era.

The counter culture movement of the late 60's and 70's obviously brought forth some positive effects in are awareness as a society generally speaking.
One of the not so good effects might be the proliferation of highly narcotic and psychotic drugs, which TL was a standing proponent .

I'm thinking Timothy Leary's statement about "Tune in turn on and drope out" That got him the governments attension and cause them to make LSD illegal, a lot of people feel that way about because we was kind of an outspoken show off in the lime light of media.
Because of Timothy leary's outspokenness research was halted and no longer funded because of governmental parnoia. It was a wounderfully powerful drug to deal with mental illness, addictions.
