I thought about it and realize that I never pronounce it.

You pronounce it exactly as it is written. TSO. The T and the S are sounded together, as we do when we. Say "it's".
And then just O as in the O of surprise.
Like ts at the end of any word, as in stats. Perhaps with a bit of an emphasis on the S, and you'll have it right, just the one syllable.
And the S is soft. Not like a Z. Bit of a hiss to it, but only a tiny bit.

I would say 'ask a Chinese person' - it may be that Anglos simply can't pronounce it correctly, and that the pronunciation is Anglicized anyway! It's Chinese, for cat's sake. lol
