WT is sly with its choice of terms! "Irregular" immediately brings to mind "something not right". How nicely that serves to distance WT from the alleged murderer in their midst!

Yeah, they could have said he was an "occasional" attender, but then that wouldn't sound so bad, would it. Esp since most folks are probably "occasional" attenders at their own churches.

BTW -- our COBE is an "irregular" attender. He's always away for work or vacations or quick builds or whatever.

The JWs are trying to separate themselves from Holt pointing to his "irregular attendance" If they wouldn't polarize their stance of being "no part of the world" alienating the majority of humans observing them, they would not be suffering the attacks in the media regarding this murder that they are. Notice what the Watchtower states regarding "irregular" ones.(thanks to Blondie for the post)

    *** w93 7/15 p. 27 Tenderly Shepherding Jehovah’s Precious Sheep ***

"Inactivity in the ministry(door to door proselitizing) or in attending Christian meetings does not mean that the sheep is no longer part of the flock. He remains part of “all the flock” for whom the elders must “render an account” to Jehovah."

I find it very interesting that they said "irregular" and not "inactive"; which essentially means that he was in good standing if you read between the lines. So they marginalize him in any way they can, to make themselves look better, even though he hasn't been proven guilty yet. I guess loyalty is just a one way street with the WT$.

The WT. "spin cycle" is churning once again to try and polish its tarnished name. Thank you Blondie for the quote proving that this individual is still one of the flock by their own rules. -Leslie-

Evidently, this particular "irregular" has had breakdowns in the past. Maybe the friends found him when he was at the peak/depth of his mental illness. Many who are "found" are going thru real crisis and need the loving brotherhood. They make great recruits.
