I think it is all too easy to fall into the trap placed by the Watchtower's approach.
Prophecy, Biblical or otherwise, is always going to be subject to individual interpretation.
I believe it is a mistake to place all one's beliefs exc;lusively on the Bible, just as it would be a mistake to do so on a basis of what Nostradamus or the Mayan Prophecy said.
Common sense and individual experience must always come into the picture, and an open mind that is also willing to scrutinise texts and the environments in which they were written, as well as recognition of scientific fact will be good things to have in one's prophecy-interpretation and bullshit-detection armoury.
In other words, always look to see the whole forest and don't get stuck on one individual tree.
