I ahve palestinian friends from the area he was from, they rsnge from very black to white with arab features. Modern day jews are not the same as the jews back then. Modern Jews are mostly European in descent. The Jewish race are very similar looking to the local arabs as you would expect.
This is what I have been told from people that live in Jerusalem anyway.
