Why did Jesus ignore slavery when it was right in front of his eyes ?

He more or less embraced it.

Funny when I read these comments with absolutely no support. Example, Band on the Run?

Paul was even worse than Jesus in terms of endorsing slavery.

Also...example? ENDORSING slavery? Or was he saying IF you are a slave you should still act like a Christian to those that are over you?

The difference here is the the Jewish law ALLOWED for and regulated slavery. Jesus had something to say about divorce---something to say about eye for eye----something to say about sacrifice. In fact, he had something to say about any portion of the Mosaic law that he said would change. He said nothing about slavery. Therefore, he made no changes. Slavery was all around him, and the Jews actively practiced it. Make all the excuses you want, but his failure to mention it WAS an endorsement.

The law allowed for a divorce. Jesus changed that. THAT was important enough to mention. Slavery? Not so much.
