Has anyone seen this? It's rich. It's too bad that this will blow right over the heads of Jehovah's Witnesses.

You stole my thunder. The article is a gem that if heeded by JW's would empty the WTS of its members

    Oh, priceless....

Makes me wonder, sometimes - are they deliberately flaunting their control and manipulation in front of the unseeing eyes of the Rank&File members just to taunt them, or do they actually BELIEVE this shyte...???

Yet, they are wondering why the stagnate in baptism. The wts cannot image how deeply we obey to them in this thing.

This article is a great tool for anyone having problems with a JW.

You can use articles like this to shut off the escape routes a JW will want to use to weasel their way out of a uncomfortable discussion.

The trick is to get them to agree with the points in these articles before you ask your question. Once you have asked your question, you can pour on the guilt when they try their usual tricks to get out of answering it.

I wonder if WTBTS has taken a calculated gamble in publishing this.

On one hand they MUST be aware of the effect of the internet and just how easy it is to research stuff nowadays - and no doubt they are well aware of JWN and similar sites. They can't ignore that.

On the other hand, maybe they have calculated that by publishing this they will be seen by the 'faithful' (aka 'gullible') to be open to enquiry and research and confident that they will still be seen to have 'The Truth'. Always bearing in mind, of course, the over-riding WTBTS mantra 'You don't need to do research, we've done it for you'.

Or it could, of course, be sabotage by an 'insider' apostate!

(I did notice the 'conditioning' bit in the first sentence about 'deception'. Emotional crutches can be real.)

Imagine if you responded, point for point, to this article, the way the Watchtower responds when others scrutinize its content. For example, question the Watchtower's intention and motives in publishing the article, cast negativity on its quoting of scripture and resort to ad hominen attacks (call into doubt the writers' faith in God). In short, model your answers on the Watchtower's trick of doing everything but addressing what's in the article.

I wonder if WTBTS has taken a calculated gamble in publishing this.

    They have done before.

We used to be able to type 'watchtower propaganda' into Google and get an excellent series of articles to get a Dub to read before asking a question. The first hit still gets it, but the new site redirects to the window washer drivel page.

The articles, which are from the 22 June 2000 Awake!, can be found at http://archive.org/. Learn how to find them in case you need them.

More and more JWs are carrying internet capable devices. Know how to direct them to find what you want them to see.

Wow - thanks for posting. What hypocrites they are to their adherents.

I wonder if they publish this stuff to flush out the "thinkers"? Anyone who would refer to this article to say they are entitled or even directed to question things from the Slave would be "marking" themselves as suspicious and to be watched closely.

    (1) Mention that you have a question or issue that you have doubts about.

    (2) Be counseled not to question the Slave -- God's Channel.

    (3) Refer to this article.

    (4) Alarm Bells! This person is reading with an eye that is critical to the F&DS. (Watch closely! We may have trouble in "River City"!)
