This makes no sense. As one of the faithful and discreet slave, he should get great joy from going out door knocking, especially since he prescribes it as a cure for everyone else when they have depression and other problems. Could it be all that is a lie?

He even said that at the zone visit this spring. a sister did the 30 hr aux pioneer and it cured her depression totally and she is now serving happily as a regular pioneer.

A rhetorical device which completely backfired. In seeking to become one with the rank and rile and letting them know that he shares in their misery, he exposed himself for saying out loud what every Witness already thinks about FS and confirming it, and for showing that the very people issuing the dictates to the troops would rather not fight themselves if they could possibly get out of it.

I admire his honesty frankly as wonderfully demoralising as it is.
Perhaps it was a subtle hint that they are saying "don't worry, we realise field service sucks and it's an embarrassing waste of time now so we are planning on eliminating it altogether soon......or copying the Mormons and making it something for certain members of the congregation only."

Field service is the biggest nuisance in his religion! Whoever says they enjoy it is a big ass LIAR!!!
And then, to make it even less worth it, they want you to report less time than the time you waste doing it. So, one can leave the house by 9:15 a.m., returning home at 12:30, and due to the rules end up counting just 1 or 1 1/2 hrs for the field service report. The worst BS ever!
Because of this, most JWs inflate their hours.
