Did you catch it? There's the Levite's version of a retirement plan:

Although retired from assigned service they still received the benefit of the sacrificial offerings made by the Israelites and also of the tithes that the twelve tribes of Israel paid in support of the temple service and worship.

Free food in one's retirement years.... That's the scam upon which the entire sacrifical ritual was based: free food for the Levite class...

JWs have modeled their own organization structure upon a similar concept, with a few living off the sacrificial efforts of the many. Rank and file publishers in the field need not apply: they're the worker bees, the non-Levites, the ones OFFERING the sacrifice. The GB ARE Levite-class....

Reminds me of a comment made by the wife of an A-type go-getter elder several years ago.

She was talking about how she & her husband had the goal of becoming a circuit overseer + COW (CO's Wife).

And why did she have this auspicious career goal?

Maybe because she wanted to take a more active share in the vindication of Jehovah's sovreignty? Nope

Perhaps she really thought she could help and encourage the friends? Uh-uh

Her reasoning, quote: "Then the friends take care of you [materially]"

The primary reason for wanting to be a COW, as it spilled from her mouth? She was tired of struggling to make a living and wanted "the friends to take care of her".

Oh, by the way, 10+ years later they are not yet CO + COW, and are still struggling to make ends meet.

    Retirement from field service?

In the last minutes of the last days with Armageddon right around the corner.

It's all about appearances and numbers on a time slip...
