As many of you may know, Dishnet in it's infinite wisdom decided to drop all of their AMC programming. Since many of you out there are much more tech savy than I, is there any way to get their programming such as a Roku player with Netflix or Hulu plus? I would like to tell dish to shove it, but I don't want to go to another cable service. My hubby is going to have severe fits if I don't figure this out before Breaking Bad and Hell on Wheels start.

Get the cable or the DirectTV guy out there TOMORROW, and get rid of Dish. AMC says there isn't an alternative via Hulu or Netflix....

Dunno about Hell on Wheels, but many of AMC's other shows, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead, etc., can all be streamed through Netflix, you just won't get them until after the on-air season is over.

Usually episodes are uploaded within an hour of first showing...

They have tons of other programs too.....

Thanks YKnot for the great link!

Just a heads up for anyone that might be in the same boat, I received a post card from dishnet on how I could still get all of my favorite AMC programming and to just call the # on the postcard. Yea, right I thought, but decided to give them a call anyway. They had to transfer me to a "special" department. They said to make up for the loss of the channel they were offering me a free ROKU player, no charge to ship, no monthly charge, plus a $20 credit to Amazon to be able to link up to the 1st run episodes of the shows. While it is not getting my AMC back I can still access my favorite episodes and with the ROKU maybe downsize some of the dish features I have. So, if anyone has the same problem give them a call.

    Ynot...hehehe....and MUCH more!

Roku is a great platform if you want to stream content. If you have local media files, then I have found Boxee to be way superior for that, and second place for streaming content.

It is possible to cut cable and satellite connections and find what you want online if you think in terms of shows you like and not networks. The situation is very dynamic though. Here are a few ideas about that.
